breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
[size=12]Hi, I thought Id noticed something odd a couple of days ago but told myself off for being daft and possibly imagining things.
But I think I might have a problem. Since the swelling appears to have completely gone I can see my own breast tissue on top of the implant more. More than I think is right. Looking straight on to the mirror I can see a shadow of a circle between the inframammary crease and my nipple. Its just at the bottom half and more obvious on one side. If I stretch up it goes away. If I lean forward it looks bleepy awful, especially from the side because my own breast tissue looks to me to sag forward a bit.
I ABSOLUTELY hate using that word sag, honestly it makes me feel physically sick and I get a pain in my chest. I thought Id never feel like this again. DF says yes he can see what I mean but thinks (hopes?!?) it will probably settle in, he says they are beautiful and feel lovely – but he would say that wouldn’t he and I love him for it. Im due to see my PS on Tuesday for a check up.
I know that you may all say wait and see your PS and that’s the right advice to give me (I wish I could give it to myself) but I would really like to know what you think – god what Id really like to hear is someone say ‘oh no no no that’s normal and it will settle etc etc’ but Im not that optimistic that someone will say that? Ive tried to take a photo but it just doesn’t show up.
The really stupid thing is – and Im so angry at myself for being so stupid – when I first noticed this I thought it was a good thing, being able to feel my own breast tissue on top cos I thought that would mean it would feel more natural to DF.
At the start I was told I had to have unders because I had hardly any breast tissue – basically what was left from having breast fed four children long-term each of them and some serious more recent dieting. PS never suggested I needed a lift (which is something I have looked into over the last couple of days since seeing this) and from what I can see by guidelines PS’s use I wouldn’t have needed one or been very border-line?? Im not exactly sure on this.
Hazleyez2201 put a thread up the other day about having had a crescent lift. If I go on Tuesday and he agrees that something looks not quite right do you think this may be a possible corrective procedure that could be done?
Ive also looked up this double bubble thing on the net and whilst what I see on myself is nothing as bad as this in the pics I found it bothers me.
Sorry to be a whinger – I know there are others with more serious things going on and I feel a bit selfish worrying but Ive spent years being upset by how I feel about my body – it’s a deep seated thing and in the past its made me ill – I still struggle to deal with stuff now so it doesn’t take much for me to feel overwhelmed.

Oh Hunny...Hugs x Didn't want to read and run but don't know if i have anything particularly useful to say!
So sorry that you're feeling so awful about this but i totally understand where you're coming from. I too have struggled with body image for years ( ill too) and having my BA i thought i could put a lot of things to rest .I've had 4 babies and BF 3 of them for 15 months each.
A couple of weeks ago i noticed something similar to what you're describing, immediate thought double bubble. I was borderline in need of a lift though. Mine is a bit different too because the only time you can see it is when my shoulders are slumped and then omg you can really see it. Mine shows up in pics too that's how i first noticed it. I wonder if it's as bad as you think it looks? I say this because photo's usually show up all the little flaws that the eye wouldn't usually notice? I know how critical i am on myself that someone else might think doesn't look so bad.
Been to my PS and he says this is normal for me and he expected it, he had said i may have a 'divot' when i saw him pre op ( i think crease is a better word) He said in 95% of cases it's resolved in the first year. With me the weight of the implant when it drops properly in to place should even it out. He did say that he would like to wait til 10 months PO before he 'tweaks' anything so presumably something can be done, maybe the same for you?
I actually thought it was normal from what i've read to be able to feel your own breast tissue on top of your implant, for a while at least?
I've also read of ladies with unders that when they lean forwards their boobs sort of go a bit cone shape ( i have this too) all the replies said this was normal, is that what happens with you?
You're certainly not whinging babe, it's horrible to suddenly realise there's something going on with the new boobies!!
I really hope your PS can reassure you on tuesady
I haven't put any of the horrid pics in my album but I'll upload one for you if you want to compare?

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
Hey hunni,
I feel like I have this a bit in my left side, it's almost like a "double crease" under my leftie but am hoping that settles in with time. If not, it's not so bad that it bothers me...I'm really just being critical. I'd definitely ask your PS if you should have had a lift - tell him that he specifically told you you didnt' have enough tissue for overs, but now there's this issue. Then he should sort if for you for free! Best luck xxxxxx

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
Clara thanks for your message - after saying you might not have anything useful to say at the beginning you really really did. It does make a difference that someone understands how I feel about this. How you put it helped me to sort it a bit in my head too and I feel a lot less worked up.
Thanks to kara and alexandra too, really nice of you to take the time to reply - it was a bit of a mammoth post.

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
Hey Kat!
I kinda know what you mean, I don't know if it's the same but I have like a crescent of tissue where my old crease sits above my new crease (I hope this makes sense!!) I'm not much use but like you it's upsetting me :( my nurse just said it was scar tissue where the internal stitches are and just needed massaging, I have been and it is getting a little but better and We're still pretty early pre op, but after everything we've gone through you can't blame us for being upset that they're not yet perfect.
Sorry I'm not much help sweetcheeks, but we're all here, I hope you're alright
Ps if its any consellation your avatar looks absolutely amazing!! x

I haven't got anything helpful to say, but thought I'd mention they look wonderful in your avatar. Since you got partial unders, they may just need a bit more time to drop, and then it might not show as much. xxx

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
It can take a while for your muscle to fully relax usually between 3 to 6 months so that they are less firm and move more with your natural tissue. It is normal for this stage of healing. However I would make your ps aware of your concerns and get him to write it in your notes just in case it does not resolve on its own.
Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
oh kat, i'm sure this will sort itself out in time, it seems quite a common complaint?
You can whinge as much as you like to us hun, we all understand how you feel, and are happy to listen and help if we can.... ur not over reacting at all. I too have had body issues for many years and got ill because of it. A lot of emphasis is placed on our new boobies to help us feel better.... its good you've noticed, and like misf1 says, mention it and get ur ps to write it in ur notes just in case.... but ur very early post op, don't panic yet hun.
Sounds like a very similar thing to clara..... and unders do take ages to sort themselves out.
Best of luck with this, keep us updated, and if you need a chat you know where we are

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
Oh Hun, I would def speak to your PS. I too am a bit worried about something similar. for me I have noticed as my boobs have got softer where the tissue is on top of the implant, near the nipple, it sags really badly when I lean over. I have the cone look again (only on top of the implant!). It's only been noticeable the last few days & am worried that if it can happen above the implant, that I'm going to get some sagging underneath in time too. I guess our tissue has to go somewhere.... Wondering if I should have gone bigger to avoid more sagging?
Anyway, sorry to hijack your post babe. It's something I'm going to keep an eye on. I really really hope your ps can give you some answers hun & that it's not as bad as you think. Big hugs xxxx

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
my messages keep sitting in my outbox and not moving?! not sure how to sort this ... so anyway - I thought I'd post my reply to Clara's PM on here. Hope thats ok - dont want to look like Ive not bothered to reply. x
here it is ....
Hiya, thanks for your message - its really nice to know that you cared enough to write.
Since your post on my thread last week I have felt more optimistic that its not as bad as I thought. It made sense what you said - and Ive beed reading up on all that I can - and checking out threads which included this coning thing you mentioned too.
In order to stop myself going over and over it I decided to think this - which would you rather have? before or after and I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that I prefer myself like this than the horrible chest I had before. I do wonder about this breast tissue maybe being a problem but have decided that if PS says thats how it will stay then I think (for now anyway! who knows with me ) Id accept it.
Its funny, only last week I posted on someone elses thread about her feeling down and I said that this is a proper emotional rollercoaster that we are on - and offered her support/encouragement etc and then I ended up feeling all worked up. I should take my own advice, I really should.
Thanks again for being a good friend and writing when you did and with such wise words too.

Re: breast tissue after unders ... advice please?
Thanks to you other lovely ladies for your messages too. Havent been on all weekend - decided to try and put things to the back of my mind till tomorrow when I see PS. I really was spending too much time in front of the mirror scrutinising (spell?) myself and its not good for the brain.
Have had a really good weekend - lots of going out - a little too much 'socialising' really but its made me feel better.
I sometimes wish I had told my friends about my ba cos some would have been really understanding I think but there are others that would be less so (maybe even a bit rough on me-not sure) so I decided to tell no-one other than my mum.
DF is utterly supportive and very kind to me but I think a woman would always understand this difficulty I have over how I look maybe more so I am really really grateful to have you ladies on here. xxx
