Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Is it normal at this stage? My lefty has now started dropping and feels fine. But the right is still high (which is fine) and I think I can feel the implant moving? If I lift my arm I can feel it move, and if I gently push the boob upwards I can feel it lift up and then settle back when I let go. Is this normal?? My left implant doesn't move at all.
Also, although I think it's just the left dropping, the incision is now a good cm lower than on the right,is it normal for the whole thing to drop? I sort of assumed that when they dropped the breast would just fall down over the incision?
Help please!

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
yes hun it sounds like your right hasn't adhered to its pocket yet, this is perfectly normal at this stage. Make sure you aren't over doing things and that your sports bra holds your boobs so they dont move at all, this will make sure your implants will adhere properly. As for the dropping its a gradual thing and it doesn't sound like you have dropped enough yet, could be your right is swollen more than your left. Your incision will be covered in or near the crease when your boobs drop.
Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Hmm,thank you! I hope it is normal,I'm feeling a bit freaked out that one implant is still moving. Could the fact that I'm now sleeping on my side make it worse?
It's really strange, because over the last few days the left has def dropped a bit,it looks much lower and bigger than the right,I was just concerned because the incision had lowered too, both scars were level until this dropping happened!

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
its an implant, its not part of your body, therefore sometimes you will be able to feel it moving, and it will be palpable at times. It does not all of a sudden become part of your own flesh, therefore it is normal to be able to feel it seperatly

Yes I was going to say, I'm at 3 months PO and I can still feel them if I bend over and reach for something...they sort of shift around...but like abbie says, they'll never become a part of you, so you'll get used to feeling them occasionally

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Sorry, I can't help since I am pre ba.
but I have a question out of the answers; when you girls say you can sometimes feel the implant move (which I understand since it's not a part of your body) can you also feel the implant in your hand when touching the brest?? I think I wouldn't mind feeling my implant now and then inside of me, but I would mind if I or my bf could feel it when touching the boobies!!

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
I had unders...so the top bit is under the muscle, but the bottom bit sticks out of the muscle....my BF claims he's felt the implant, but it's not really like a "ridge" as I had cohesive gel. It's just not quite as squishy as real breast tissue (which is just fat).

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
hey tanya - this is also totally normal, it's just the extra fluid that will eventually be absorbed into your body. Nothing to worry about!!!

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Thanks for all your replies. I'll give it a bit more time and see how it goes. I know it'll never be a part of me,but I thought that textureds were supposed to bond to your tissue, not move around in the pocket. I can only feel it move/push up on the bottom though, maybe because I had unders,so maybe it's nothing. x

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
a "capsule" of scar tissue will form around any foreign material in your body. whether that's a hip replacement or a breast implant. the only problem with breast implants as they're squishy if the capsule forms and starts tightening, it can change the shape of the breast. (that's capsular contracture).
but there will always be a "capsule" between the implant and your actual tissue.

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
this thread is really helpful....spent last night waking up thinking i'd done serious damage....as of last night i can feel my leftie move at bottom when i move my arm, and really sore in crease....omg hideous. can't feel it with my hand tho. my ps said no bra necessary even tho am just 2 weeks, but think i'm goin to get a sports bra today to wear daytimes as i don't feel it move so much when i push boob up a bit. otherwise i'll be spending xmas with my left hand stuck to my boob, slightly hindering on the opening of presents, cooking of food etc!!!
only less than 24hr since foam supports came off- my ps was adamant a bra isnt nec so just worm a soft support, and she never has had bottoming out etc so i know i should trust her, am just worried i could have done some damage. rang hospital before i read this thread, they rang her said its all normal, just don't overdo it. i was on my feet all yest but nothing strenuous...hope its ok, this thread has been v reassuring.
one question- is there ever a point when you can just forget they are there????!!
xx

Evertime i bend down i can feel them 'moving' but as previous replies as its not part of your body its expected. Can be slightly strange though!

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Mine still isn't better. It seemed to be OK,but after a bad nights sleep it starts again. It's been moving again for two days, but I think it's more muscles sliding over it than the implant moving now. It is twinging and aching though!
I have to learn to stay still in my sleep! x

Re: Feeling the implant moving? Help!
Mine are moving about and I'm wearing a post surgical bra. Making a few squidging noises too. They feel very odd when I come back up from bending over.
