Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I've noticed a few of you are from Suffolk, but none of you had your ops locally. Was wondering if you had any particular reasons for travelling for your surgery instead staying closer to home?
How was the travelling back and forth for your pre-op consultations, op and post-ops? I take it you all had overnight stays? I know London isn't exactly far, I've got plenty of friends who travel there every morning to work, but isn't it different in our case, especially just after the op and the first consult after? What if you need to see someone asap, do you just see your gp instead?

Hey Roxanne!
I'm didn't have my op in Suffolk, but I did travel 2 hours for my ba from leeds to Dolan park (Bromsgrove) as this is where THG carry out their operations, however I had all my consultations locally as they have clinics all over the UK, so I only had to travel for my op!
Who are you going with sweets?

I think I'm going with Simon Withey through Mybreast. I get to see him for all my consultations which is what I want, but it also means I have to travel to London everytime. Anyhow, it's the closest Mybreast clinic to me, and I specifically asked for him so there's no way around that one :/

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I live in Essex and have chosen to go with THG- so 2 and half hour to go tO bromsgrove, then all my pre and post op appointments have been/will be centre of London- which is approx 50mins on the train, or an hour in the car (traffic!!) which has been fine- although I'm not sure when I need to go post-op- as my op is 4th dec, going into London right on top of Christmas will be a major pain, however will all be worth it for my new babies!!! I went to my local private hospitals for consults, but didn't feel as happy with them as I did THG.
Good luck!!!

I've never been to London near xmas to avoid the madness. I'm ready to book my second consult, as much as I'd like it sooner rather than later, I'm thinking I should book it for January instead. I'm sure early December should be ok.
Debsrich you should be fine for your post op consult even if it is nearer to xmas depending on the time you go. Perhaps train and tube off peak are better than driving? Either way it'll be busy, but you'll have to go with someone either way though.

I had my surgery in london at the riverside clinic about 2 and half hrs away! All post ops are done in Norwich thou which is an hr drive and sucks but worth is for the boobies! I wanted a specific surgeon so would of travelled wherever he was lol! Xx

Nikita, I see from your profile on the left you live near mine. Out of curiosity, did you go to Nuffield Ipswich for a consult?

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I had a consult with one of the surgeons at Nuffiled. He was really nice, and had the qualifications I was looking for. The consult was £100 so there's no point of going unless you want to see a specific surgeon. I'd been to their open house exactly year ago, had a mini consult with him, then booked a proper one a few months afterwards.
It is really expensive! Ps said I could be a daycase since I'm local and he doesn't use drains. The price for a lollipop lift no implants daycase plus discount since I went to their open evening is just over £5400! He's based at Spire Norwich, and it costs even more there!!! Before I mentioned I'd been to an open evening they quoted me £6400 or 6500 or something like that! I'd understand if I had an overnight stay, but a daycase
But then I met Withey at Mybreast as I really wanted a consult with him :). Mybreast price is £4900 for the same procedure with an overnight stay which is essential since Withey uses drains and I wouldn't be ready to travel right away. That's £500 less, though in real terms it won't be due to the travel expense. Plus tbh with two kids I could really do with spending the night there, so I prefer this over being a daycase.

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I live in essex and i have chosen THG, they provided me with free pick up and drop off to bromsgrove, it was an offer at the time, even tho its a long drive i actually preferred this to using trains or someone having to take me and pick up to somewhere closer, this way there is no stress at all. I think most of the larger companies can provide chauffeur service for a price or ask THG to throw it in for you? Its a good thing to haggle on

Interesting hayleykim, I'm not sure how much I'd need this though, since my husband will be joining me at next consult and piking me up after op. Hmmm, I don't know if Mybreast do this.

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
Mybreast is £4900 with an overnight stay. Nuffield Ipswich (through private practice) is £5412 for a daycase for the same surgery. Mybreast does tend to be more than other companies, but clearly not as much as Nuffield!!! If I chose to stay overnight in Ipswich I'd be paying almost £6k from the sounds of it. Uplifts are generally more because they're more complex xxx

Yeah I know I guess if u want that surgeon u have to pay it I would shop around a bit hun there are companies out there that will be much cheaper and have amazing surgeons like the one I had and for a lift without implants u shouldn't be paying as much as a lift with implants x

I know what you mean Nikita, but I really felt comfortable with both ps's and when I saw the last one I felt he is the one, it all felt right really. Even it it does cost a small fortune to fix my little boobs

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I paid around £5000 for my uplift (Transform) and they told me that implants would only add another few hundred to the price (had the surgeon recommended them).
Just had another good look at the boobies (I'm not cleared to shower yet so I don't see them so much) and they're flippin' magical

Re: Suffolk ladies & anyone who travelled @2hrs to op
I'm glad to hear how happy you are b4eve I think uplift with implants at Mybreast would be something like £5800. Even though I'm small and Withey said I had little tissue, neither recommended the implants, so it was nice to hear the same from both, and really did put my mind at ease.
It seems a lot of you have local consults even though you travel for surgery. Are your consults with ps or pcc?

Hey hun, i live in Norfolk and had to travel 3 hours to Abbey Riverside for my op...I was a daycase as i had accomodation closeby. I found the journey back after the op was fine. A few roundabouts made my boobs feel like they wdere going to burst out of the sides but i held on to them for dear life lol!
Also my consults were in norwich which is only a 20/25min drive from where i am xxxx
