Day 2... :( Help!

Hello lovelies,

I'm 2 days post op and after feeling no pain yesterday whatsoever, today I feel like I've jumped off a building!!
Even my ribs are swollen and sore and this compression strap is making me so short of breath I feel so awful. I take it off every once in a while for a minute or 2, but I'm scared to leave it off any longer because my boobs are riding ridiculously high. I'm only taking paracetamol as I don't want the side effects of the co codemol on top of this.
So ladies, do you think I would be allowed to take nurofen so early post op? Are sore swollen ribs normal? And do you think my boobs should have dropped even a little by now?

ring ur clinic about th pain killers i doubt ur boobs will have dropped yet cos ur so early into recovery! try to distract urself with a funny film or sumthn. Hope ur feeling better soon hun xxx

Hi hun, I didn't have the strap, but its best to keep it on, unless your PS tells you otherwise. Not sure about the nurofen, but maybe just give your PS a call and see what he says.

With the swollen ribs etc, its totally normal. I looked like a bus hit me in the beginning, you can have a look at my pics if you like, it shows some gruesome swelling and bruising.lol. My picture diary is in my signature and the password: theboobs

I'm so swollen I look like a man, I have no definition in my upper body I look totally disgusting! Thanks stircrazy I shall have a look now. It's lovely to have reassurance from you girls Thankyou :) x

Its a pleasure. What size did you end up going with, and did you have overs or unders. When the implant is bigger, and you start out really small with little or no breast tissue that has not been stretched out by breast feeding or weightloss, it causes a lot of trauma to the body, and if you work out your muscles are really toned and getting unders can be so painfull.

Ibrobrufen works well. The swelling is normal. Loosen your strap a teeny bit. Dropping may occur around day 12 but ever so slightly. You will feel like you've been dragged through a swamp for the first 4 days, but I promise you will feel tons better after. Just take it easy hun I know its tough, but it will pass x

Hiya! I'm a day ahead of you and know how u feel :( I'm all swollen too and still very sore, I was given paracetemol and ibuprofen to take daily also another pill for if I was in mega pain but it makes me feel sick and dizzy so not taking it today! I wish if was as easy for me to just pick up the phone but because I was nhs I'd prob have loads of people to go through before I got to speak to anyone who dealt with me! So no help here im afraid, I know what you're going through tho,it can only get better!! Xx

Stircrazy I've just checked out your pics and if I end up anything like your Pre op pics I would be very happy! I had unders 420cc rounds from a very very flat a cup, I'm talking 10 yr old boy flat!
I have don't have Internet access, just my iPhone and I can't upload onto picturetrail via my phone or I could show you how small I was!
Your bruising was looked pretty sore but really cleared up fast! You look lovely you must be really happy! :)

Thanks bronzewolf i will hit the nurofen! How are you doing? I see you're 16 days post op I hope you are feeling good? :)

Thanks pussycat. I'm happy with the shape, but not the size. I really should've gone a bit bigger I think. I'm seeing my PS on the 10th to discuss this. I want at least 400cc HP.

I'm sure you'll look a lot better in a few days. The swelling takes time to go down, up to 3 months. The bruising goes away pretty fast as you can see. Just hang in there. Time heals all (well most) wounds.lol

Yeh I'm fine! I'm sure if I had a problem I could phone but dont have any direct phone numbers, I'm back up to the hospital on Thursday to get my dressings checked and then my 6wk check up with my surgeon. I'm just so glad of this site, I was never told anything about sleeping upright, was told I can shower from today and to just not over do it while I'm healing lol

Oh Pussycat, you sound exactly like I did on day 2! I was fine the day after the op but day 2 was def the worst for me. Yesterday I felt loads better though! And today I have even popped into town for a coffee!!! Honestly hun, you will not believe what the difference a day makes.

Rest lots, drink plenty of fluids & don't feel you have to do anything. (I couldn't even flush the toilet! Lol).

Take care & I am sure another 24-48 hrs and u will se a huge improvement sweet xxx

Aw Jojo I know you felt like poo on day 2 so I was quite prepared, and I can't believe you're out and about! Do you really feel loads better than yesterday?! I can't wait. I'm so unsure how tight to have this god damned binder on either!
I've just cried at my bf cos i asked if he'd get my frozen peas and he said he would but after he'd eaten his orange - dramatic much! I feel so annoyed.

I'm real glad you're better though sweetie xx

Honestly hun, you would not believe the difference! I've had a shower, put on some really nice clothes & make up & felt ready to face the world!! Lovely feeling. Still feel like they don't belong to me and arms still a little sore if I get them at a certain angle! The incisions are a bit achy today so think that's them healing. The binder is so so annoying but mine are definitely dropping so it's doing the job!

Ah I felt so emotional too, that's all the meds & effects of the GA. I promise you soon feel better sweetie. Take care xxx

hi pussycat, take the co-codomal, but take senokot max at the same time and you'll be fine hun. It will be worth it in the end Hug

hi pussycat, i know how you are feeling day 3 to five was the worse for me. the meds made me really sick and I didnt go to the toilet for nine days. I would cry at the drop of a hat. I had no bruising what so every but my ribs were sore to touch. the ibobrufen i found great, you need more pain meds i think hun and make sure to take them through the night so that you build them up in your system for them to work best. it will pass and be a distant memory xx

I've got ice packs, frozen peas and I've moved from the bed to the sofa and feel more comfortable, I've taken nurofen and thanks AmyD with your advice I've just taken some senokot!
It's my ribs they're so tender! :( you've all been through it so you know what's best, I'm so grateful to every one of you.
Sorry to keep moaning! I knew it was gonna be hard, it's just different when you're living it!
