Oh no! :(
It's my ba in less than a week and I feel like I'm getting a horrible cold :( I'm nearly overdosing on vit C to prevent this from getting worse but do you think I need to tell my pcc? I don't want to risk being told I might not be able to go through with surgery.
I partly believe my symptoms are the result of quitting smoking (lol) as I'm coughing alot, giving me a sore throat. Denial much? Other than that I'm just tired.
Sorry for the long post! X

Re: Oh no! :(
Hey, I had a cold a few days before my BA. The surgeon said it was down to nerves. he advised me to slow down on my smoking but said that if i stopped completely that it could put stress on my body. Just stress less, carry on with Vitamin C but try not worry, i think its just your nerves that are making your body run down xx

Re: Oh no! :(
Hello!
I was actually dreading quitting because I've tried so hard before, and failed! But it really feels worth it this time. When I quit I usually get really bad mouth ulcers but not this time, just a bad cough that gets worse in the middle of the night!
My ps stressed that I had to quit altogether to prevent any kind of trouble during the healing process, so I thought I'd better do it properly.
Well done Wales, 2 days feels like eternity! The earlier days were the worst but hang in cos you're doing really well!!
Sara, how are you feeling after your op? :)

Re: Oh no! :(
Hey pussycat,
I wouldn't worry, if it's a cold it should be done in a few days. It's prob just stress, just rest and relax and drink tons of water.
So exciting when exactly is your op??
xx

Re: Oh no! :(
Thx pussycat! Honestly I couldn't have asked for a better recovery - especially since I was well worried as I had unders...but it's kind of like, every day you feel better, and then one day you realize you're sleeping on your tummy and jumping and they're bouncing and you're not wearing a bra and they just feel a part of you.
It's pure joy!! after years of flat banana boobies LOL

Re: Oh no! :(
It TRULY isn't. Totaly honesty - for about the first 3 days it felt like someone was kneeling on my chest - hard to take a deep breath. But no "pain" like you'd expect from surgery. I've had the same feeling with bronchitis!!! The boobies feel alien at this stage and hard and you're afraid they'll fall off at first LOL
Then around day 2-3 they start feeling HEAVY (still no pain, just heaviness). you start having nerve regeneration (lightening through the boobies) muscles are stretching, bending over feels WEIRD and you don't want to do it!
Throughout this you are being VERY careful to keep your arms at your sides as much as possible so they settle properly into the pocket.
I've NEVER had pain in my incisions.
Then things get better and better from there. By 6-8 weeks (I know it seems like forever but it FLYS) you're feeling like they're a part of you - although I do still have some numbness, I have full feeling in nipples, and leftie is very sensitive, so there's still healing to go!!
Don't be worried about unders.
I'd suggest frequent gentle walks to get the circulation going.
good luck!!!

Re: Oh no! :(
Thanks sparky sweetpea, I had to quit a minimum of 2 weeks Pre ba!!! I was like oh my god but I'd rather have a smooth recovery than a cigarette! Although my bf isn't helping as he smokes around me all the time.
When is your consultation sweets? I know it was reckless but I booked my op pretty much at my first consultation. You have all the excitement to come sparky dearest!! How long have you been considering your ba? X

Re: Oh no! :(
I'm going with thg at Dolan park, I had my consultation and it just felt right so I booked it. It's something I've always thought about, but never for a second did I think I would ever go through with it, so it feels really funny. It's really good that you have your husbands support, it must be a weight off your mind. I had to get drunk before I could even tell my bf as I was so self conscious about my boobs, I couldn't even talk about them!
Smoking though, you'll do it when you know you have to! Only this time am I taking it so seriously!
Who are you thinking of going with?

Re: Oh no! :(
Im not giving up now just getting so excited AND nervous i dont know what to do with myself sometimes but im not gonna have a ciggie now . I gave up a couple of weeks after booking my op. I've tried several times before but never got very far, i think this is the incentive i've been waiting for!hehe. My new boobies are definately worth going without ciggies for :) xxx
