Sleeping sat up :(
Just a quick question...
How long do I have to sleep propped up?
My bum is killing me, but numb at the same time, if that makes sense lol
Thanks

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
I know how you feel. I actually started sleeping on my side last night. My upper body is still propped up, but on the side. Just put a light pillow under my bottom breast and a pillow between my knees. I slept so good.

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
I used a v pillow to prop me up, over top of a normal pillow that I had laid along the length of my back, if that makes sense? I read it on here somewhere, and found that my back was more supported than just being propped up, so I didn't actually get a sore back/bum at all.
I started sleeping flat 2 nights ago, which felt much better. I can also sort of half turn to the side, which is better than flat on my back. But I can't fully sleep on my side yet, it feels like the upper boob is pulling in weird ways if I try to, so I'm leaving that a while longer....

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
The reason they want you to sleep propped up to to reduce swelling quickly, which will ease boob ache and morning boob quicker. Some people are told different, but I was told 2 weeks, and most of my swelling was gone and could sleep on my side easily
Re: Sleeping sat up :(

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
hi i slept laying flat from the 3rd night i really couldnt sleep propped up i was never advised how to sleep although from what has been said on here it probably does help with the swelling as mine has side boob has taken ages to go down and i still cant sleep on my side a month post op and still have some pain on the side too so id probably sleep propped up for as long as you can stand it xx

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
Ive tried to sleep flat all night but boobs feel really tight and weird so trying to still sleep a bit propped. Is a pain though - maybe its because skin is still too tight. I cant wait to be able to be comfy - I think thats why I just nap loads right now!

Awe hunnie I know what you mean! I found the mist comfortable way to sleep is with this:

I also put a pillow in front of that and another on top to rest my head on. I put a heating pad in my back to keep in from stiffening up. I get up about every 4 hours to move around s bit to keep my circulation flowing. So far so good!

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
Im going to put up with it for another week then I'll try and lie a bit flatter than what I have been doing. Alot of my swelling has gone down now, I have noticed the difference in the morning - pain wise, if I have propped myself right up and managed to stay that way most of the night, the pain when I get up in the morning is no where near as bad as when I have slept quite flat. Just another small price to pay Im afraid for having a set of jubblies lol

Re: Sleeping sat up :(
It does help with the swelling to sleep on your back - I would recommend putting a heating pad or hot water bottle on your lower back and that REALLY helps with the discomfort. Also, if you can keep ice packs on your boobies it srsly helps with morning boob to just use them 1st thing in the morning for 15 mins or so!
