When is the best time to get your BA?

Hiya

I was just wondering what time of year you think it's best to get your BA? I was hoping to get mine in the winter so I could hide my sports bra and wait for them to settle while wearing jumpers, but might not be able to get it done until the summer. Those who had it done in the summer...did you think it was too hot and uncomfortable or did you not really notice?

I'd say winter is best for sure. I had summer. The hardest thing was to hide my armpit scars, and being careful not to get too much sun on the newly stretched skin.

I had mine done in may, it was a heatwave, it was very uncomfortable for the 2 weeks I couldn't shower, I felt like a stinking pigs even though I was having shallow baths. After that I wore vest tops with little shrug cardigans, but couldn't tkae the cardigans off because of the sports bra. I'd say the first 2 weeks were awful and after that just little things annoyed me. Manageable. I'm sure there are some annoying things about having it done in winter, maybe not being able to pull a jumper over your head or finding a coat to fit over new boobies?

I thought summer would have it's problems! I bet the arm pit scars were terrible, how long did that cause problems for? But i didn't even think about the stretched skin part! xx

Oh my god i bet it was horrible not being able to have a proper shower in a heatwave...is 2 weeks generally the time that a ps will advise you not to shower for? That's good idea about the shrugs though - and you're right, there must be some annoying parts about getting it done in winter, I hope so anyways!! :) xx

I dont know about the shower thing hun, everyone seems to be told different. Its not usually any longer than 2 weeks

I had mine done in july so right in the middle of summer, even though I was only allowed shallow baths for the first week I didn't find it too bad. x

I just had mine done a few days ago - September is the first month of Spring where I am, so like having it in March in the UK, I guess. I planned to have it done now specifically so that I will have time to heal and get out of the sports bra by the time the weather gets warmer. At the moment, cardys / long sleeves are still a must, so it's easy to hide. And by summer, I'll be healed enough to show the new 'girls' off, go swimming, etc etc, without having to worry at all!

Mine is in 4 days! And it's sweater weather here already, so it's the perfect time! So I agree with Dina!

I was glad I got mine done in september as I should be out of a sports bra for the Xmas parties and all healed by summer hopefully. Also I had waterproof dressings so was able to shower the next day! (with help from the bf) xxx

I had mine done the last week in August - end of summer - fortuately they weren't any great beach days left, but it's still hot - I too am hoping that they'll be dropped and fluffed by next summer (June). Strategy!!!

I had mine done end of July...cos I work in school so had the 6weeks hols off. (Which was perfect for me) I didn't find having in the middle of summer a problem at all. I could shower after 1 week and even went on holiday at 16days abroad.

Good question! I think I am wanting them done in the autumn/winter so that I can hide them for a while until they have settled. I don't want many people to notice-although I am wondering how realistic that is since I am so small chested!!! xx

Just start wearing padded bra's leading up to it. I would say by boobs look slightly bigger than when they were padded out. I've gone from a very small 34b to a 34d sports bra and saw the guys from work the other day and no one noticed. They might when they've healed and I can wear push up bras again but I doubt anyone will say anything.

Thanks for the replies :) I'm so glad that a lot of you have had your ops in the summer and haven't found it too bad! I guess after the summer we've had over here I shouldn't worry about getting too hot!! :) xxx
