Incision is itching...
Hello ladies..
I am 4 days post op and currently feeling an itch on the incision, but it's still covered with a bandage. I know when any scar's healing, it itches.. I hope I'm feeling the right thing .. and it's actually healing well.

Hi Dina, yes that's exactly it :) It drives you bonkers for a few days! I was rubbing my scars for about a week to ten days afterwards but they don't itch at all now

Re: Incision is itching...
I saw them for the first time myself only last night- they are amazing. Flat, fine little incisions which will look like a tiny wrinkle once they heal I am very happy with docs work.
I have to keep tape on them for at least siz weeks (apparently it keeps them flat)...

Re: Incision is itching...
They are a lot better just in the last few days, they 'hurt' on and off, but it's very bearable. I now actually feel the breast rather than notice the pain - if that makes sense? There was a period, about three days ago, when I started breathing deeper, the pain was significantly less and I laid on my side for the first time maybe two nights ago? It was almost overnight things just got an awful lot easier - thank goodness! Sneezing is still a bit bizarre, but I can stretch again with only a little pull. it's weird; I do try to protect them, as you probably are too :) but you will probably just realise you are almost back to normal one day without noticing exactly 'when' it occurred? I don't move my boobies around, smoosh them or squish them or anything yet, they are getting softer to touch (I think thats thanks to the bio oil helping to skin give faster) but I pretty much try not to think about them right now, I know I am a few months to a year off seeing the final product so I am putting them on the shelf, so to speak!
How are you going anyway dear?

Lucky for some! I have to keep mine taped for 6 MONTHS! My PS said he thinks it the best way to prevent them from spreading and ending up with a wide scar from moving and stretching, etc...

Re: Incision is itching...
My incisions were uncovered from day 1! Although I had them glued. I went back last Monday to my surgeon and he told me a haven't washed the scars enough so he had to pick off all the glue with forceps!! Disgusting! Theyre really really itchy now though! Especially the left one! Xxx

Re: Incision is itching...
Is normal to fell inchy as your scar heals but I would keep a eye on it as you could be allergic to the dressing over it!
Its very commen, I was allergic to mine but I could ignore it and didnt touch it, once the dressing was removed 10 days post op I had a rash that was raised and red hot itchy but that settled after a few days.
If it get to itcy then call your clinic and they will remove the dressing and replace it with something else

Re: Incision is itching...
@ BKOZ, my ps told me to keep the tape on 24/7, swimming and all. He said that even with water it should stick for about a week, and when it starts to peel, replace it.
Yep, off to the hospital first thing in the morning!! Pretty crazy! Eek!!!
