Infections! Empty Infections!

Hi ladies!

I was just wondering how common infections are after a BA? and wether it's caused during the surgery itself or if it's how you care for yourself afterwards?
I'm asking because I read a post by a girl who had the surgeon I am using and got a really nasty infection! :( and now I have something new to stress about!

It's just one of those things, bacteria live on your skin and in the air. It's not your surgeon or your falt.

Hi Pussycat,

Totally agree with misf - today's hospitals are so clean, and they even usually give IV antibiotics during the op! Unfortunately it's just the luck of the draw I think. I'm not sure which girl on here you mean, but generally speaking, just follow all your surgeon's instructions. I remember when I got a belly piercing I got a NASTY infection and had to take it out because I didn't take care of it - but had no problem at all with my BA!

I think it can be just one of those things, I wouldnt worry too much about it as with this day and age there are so many things that are done to stop infection, I mean if you take the meds that are providing and keep to the advise your ps advises then you should have no problems hun.

Thanks girls I'm just paranoid, knowing my luck if anyone were to get one it would be me! Thanks for the reassurance, this forum is a godsend, I don't post often but I'm always on it!

Pussycat, they give you antibiotics to take for a week anyway, to avoid any infection. Well they did with me anyway, no infection ever xx
