What size post op bra do I get? Empty What size post op bra do I get?

Post by HELSBELS 18th September 2011, 7:21 am

Hi,
I'm going for my op on the 24th Sept with The Hospital group and still don't know what size post op bra to get as I won't know what size I'll be until after the surgery. The bra isn't included in the price so have to get my own. I've said I want to be a DD but in normal boob world that isn't very big and I think with the 460cc implant ill end up being bigger so what size bra do i go for? I can't buy one at the hospital as they don't stock all the size (typical). any help greatly appreciated!

This is also something I'm thinking about too, as I'm having 525's I don't know exactly what my size will be, should be around the E size, I'm currently a deflated 32/34 c and not sure what size to get for after the op!?

I brought a macom bra and wore that for about 12 hours and then got measured after my first post op appointment. The macom bra is good as your need to just get a back size and stretches to fit all back. But i would go a back size bigger, i got my back size of 34 but because i had 800cc the cups were large so the nurse said a size bigger would have given more support. xxx

Would sports bras be okay to get as at least they stretch if need be and they are supposed to be supportive?

My surgeon told me not to waste my money on a macom bra but it's up to you. I got a M&S high impact (non underwired) sports bra off ebay for £12. My surgeon told me to go up a band size and cup size to accommodate the swelling. So, I told him I wanna end up a 34d (ish) and he advised me to get 36dd sports bra which I have! My op is on Thursday, I will let you know how it fits xx

This question has been bugging me too. Let us know how you get on with the bras you choose. I have been told to buy a 32D but am thinking it might be too small?!

So confusing!

Best of luck for Thursday and Saturday ladies!! Stars

Mr T just said they are expensive and a sports bra from asda for £8 is just as good, but that is just his opinion hun. I ended up buying the M&S one as alot of people on here have that one.

Thanks Opal Eyes xxx

I would take a few sizes with you. If your aiming to be a DD then I would take a DD an E and maybe even a F cup. As the others have said take a band size bigger than you noramlly wear too. x

I'm only 32aa and taking a 34C Royce post surgery bra.
I might also get a cheap sports bra in a 34D incase of swelling.
I thought the general advise was to go a band size bigger and then the cup size you expect to be and/or plus a cup?

Well hi girlies!
Had my op last saturday and it went brilliantly. Was with Dr Paganelli from the hospital group.
For the bra query i had 460cc put in and took a 34DD tesco high impact sports bra with me which fit perfectly.
Also i had my week check up yesterday and the nurse said the tesco bra was better than the surgical bra as it supported in exactly the right places.
So go buy the £6 tesco white sports bra ladies!

Ive just ordered a macom bra, like the lady said earlier i thought it would save me buying lots of different ones to begin with, NIKITA has also said she swears buy hers and she has done so well with her recovery that what she says goes with me!!!!lol When things settle down i have also seen the sports bra in Tescos for £6 and thought id get a couple xxxxxWhat size post op bra do I get? 899188

Hi Claire Louise,
I originally had about 30B chest (looked more like 32 A) and had 460 medium/high profile 460cc implants and they look perfect on me. I'm size 8 and 8 stone 7 so I'm quite slim. They have already started to relax after one week and look full and very natural. From my experience i can only suggest the Tesco sports bra and I used this immediately after the op - the nurses put it on me.
I haven't been measured yet but I think I'm going to be something like a 30E which is great! (might even be a little bigger.
Your swelling shouldn't go down that much and I haven't changed the size of the sports bra at all. many woman say after swelling they changed bras but there doesn't seem to be much swelling on my boobs and i havent needed to.
I would really recommend The Hospital group, the surgeons are professional and Dr Paganelli got the exact result i wanted. I took a picture in of another girl from here (isabella) and said I wanted mine to look like hers and he done it!
