sleeping
So, I've been having a really hard time getting into a comfy position lately.
I've got the pregnancy pillow, which has been so great! But, I am so sick of sleeping on my back!!
When can I sleep on my stomach again!!!?
Or, I would even settle for my side! Stopped taking sleeping pills, so I just am not sleeping at all, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get to be a stomach sleeper again though.
Whats it like sleeping on your stomach with implants?..

Re: sleeping
Hey Macmama3!!
I totally agree with you about NO SLEEP! I'm 26 days post op and I am still having a hard time sleeping comfortably. I am a side sleeper and it totally kills me that I am not able to curl up in a ball in bed to go to sleep. I found that sleeping on the couch helps for me because I have the back of the couch to hold myself up and my legs as I lay on my side so there is not much stress on my breasts. For sleeping on your stomach, I think it will take some time to reach that position. Your breasts need enough time to heal properly and get their shape. You and me are both pretty early in our post op, that eventually our sleeping habits will return, I hope. Maybe any other ladies have any opinions or suggestions that would be GREAT!!!

Re: sleeping
Think it was about 5-6 weeks before I slept on my side.
I just kept trying it until it felt comfortable. At first my boobs just stayed put & it looked strange but they soon softened and sat comfy.
Sleeping on your back all night is so uncomfy and then when you get out of bed you get the dreaded 'morning boob'! Soon becomes a distant memory tho!
So wish I had found this forum before I had my BA. At least i could have realised it wasnt just me.

Re: sleeping
I've read posts on here before about sleeping on your belly post-op. And loads of the girls who are a while post-op have said it happens eventually. Just as Lolly said she is already sleeping on her side - given a bit of time to heal up, and you eventually get back to doing everything just like you did before.
Maybe do a search for topics on sleeping and it should come up, and you'll see plenty of girls end up back on their belly.
So yeah - it'll suck for a while, but when you're comfortable you'll be able to move to sleeping on your side and then your belly again. x

Re: sleeping
I tried sleeping on my side last night, but..not for long. I didn't wanna hurt myself!
oh my gosh, "Morning boobs" hurt! jeeze, I am glad that I had learned out this before my BA so I was prepared for it, but man, when I get up for the first time in the morning, how uncomfortable!!
I usually only sleep on my stomach. But, after going through three pregnancies, I got used to not being able to.
But still!!! Its my favorite.
At least I can now slightly stretch in the mornings after my long uncomfortable nights of back sleeping!

Re: sleeping
I cannot sleep comfortably on my back, and my surgery only confirmed this...I waited until 7 days and I could sleep on my side, trying to switch sides throughout the night. I did have some morning boob associated with that at first, but it was worth it to me to be able to just get one semi-good night of sleep. (I also told my PS about this issue and he told me I could sleep however I wanted at my 7 day post op visit. You should check with your PSs, of course, as everyone's different.) Anyway, now at 5 weeks I basically sleep on my stomach/side with a pillow under me and I have no problems! All in all, morning boob was worth not having to sleep on my back! 6 days elevated on my back was enough for me! I was desperate for a good night's sleep at that point! Check with your surgeons, though. ;-)

Re: sleeping
Moongal- I'm glad you was not sleeping on your back after a week, I'm only on my first night and I've literally slept an hour! I'm just uncomfortable, my back hurts and I end up dozing off and getting an uncomfortable neck even though I'm wedged everywhere with pillows!! I think I'll ring my surgeon next Monday and ask him! Xxx
