Post-op Boobs and Sports Bra Size
Another question...I've so many right now!!!
How many of you ended up being bigger than the sports bra size you were told to buy by your surgeon? Just wondering if I'll end up bigger than the 34C I was told to buy.
Thanks,
Miss Flump x x x

I was told to buy a DD & E, and as I'm a 32 I bought a 32E and took in the 34D that I already had and they both fit fine. I actually prefer the 34D but not sure if that's cos it's a shock absorber and a better make than the M&S bra, so who knows?! They put me in the 34D while I was stil knocked out but prob coz it was the only one left out?! xx

Re: Post-op Boobs and Sports Bra Size
I'm a bit worried as the ones I've bought are only from Primark and are over the head ones. There really doesn't feel like there's much space in them already and my boobs are like tiny wee fried eggs!!!
Think I might have to invest in a few bigger ones just to be on the safe side. Do you think I should go up band and cup size, say to maybe a 36 or 38 D?
My ribs are 32.5" anyway, which would make me a 38 back usually anyway. I just don't want to be too restricted.

Re: Post-op Boobs and Sports Bra Size
I like my shock absorber too, I find it more comfortable than the M&S ones I have because it has a softer material and more stretch. Also it's a a 34'' band which I find more comfortable with the swelling I have. The only thing is, it really is an over the head halter bra, and I only managed to squeeze it on yesterday by stepping in, and really haven't taken it off since haha!
I would say get at least one that isn't over the head just in case you are not up for squeez-in in, as you really shouldn't be raising your arms. And also one with one band size bigger than normal so that its not too tight if you have swelling. You can take some back after too!

I have no idea as Spire provide mine for me but I don't think over the head ones will be very good at all as you won't be able to lift your arms xx

Karen - thanks for the reply.
That's odd that you're getting a bra as I'm going with Spire Liverpool.
Do you think being given the bra differs from surgeon to surgeon as they operate privately out of the Spire hospitals? x x x

Re: Post-op Boobs and Sports Bra Size
You wont be able to get the sports bras over your head. You need a back or front fastening sports bra. I ended up a FF and wore a DD or E sports bra immediately post op.
Re: Post-op Boobs and Sports Bra Size
Thanks again for the reply Misf1.
Looks as if I'll have to go out and buy another couple of sports bras that front fasten then. Can't believe I didn't even think of that or research it before I went out to buy them.
I'm also really pleased to hear that your size increased after your surgery. I'd be happy to be a D, even though my PS has said I'll probably be a full C.
