Re: PolyTech Silimed Implants - Warning
This is exactly why you should research your implants before you have them. If you are unhappy with your implants I suggest you seek legal advice or contact your surgeon/ clinic
Re: PolyTech Silimed Implants - Warning
I have a silimed polyurethane coated implant and cant say that I have enjoyed reading this information. I do understand that they say it is safe but still cant help but feel a little nervous you only have to look at what happened with the PIP implants. My Dr uses these implants on nearly every paitent and here in Australia they are used by quite a few of the leading surgeons. I will be waching this thread as I am interested in what others have to say.

Re: PolyTech Silimed Implants - Warning
i have these type of implants and my surgeon did inform me of the previous findings but assured me that he had been using them for years in the 70,s and when they were re introduced he had done thousands of breast enlarements with these type of inplants ( he was a surgeon on the nhs in my area for many years before he took semi retirement) he believed they did help with cc and had never heard of any of his previous patients getting cancer from them, i listened to what he had to say but this is my way of thinking. most things we do theses days involve risks we smoke and have a risk of cancer we drink we could get run over life is about risks and we take many of these risks on a daily basis yes i could get cancer from these but i have more of a chance of getting cancer from smoking etc x i chose these type of implants because i have less chance of having to have a re op due to cc i want to be able to keep them for as long as possible if not for ever x

Re: PolyTech Silimed Implants - Warning
Are these the implants also refered to as 'furry brazilian' implants??
One of the surgeons I saw privately advised the furry brazilians and said they wasn't FDA approved but low chance of cc- I'm thinking these are what are being discussed here??
Thanks x

Thats them debsrich. If you look on you tube and search dr Daniel Fleming he does a spiel about breast implants and talks about the poly implant. He also has a video of him removing one. He is my surgeon and meant to be doing my reop. I am almost certain that he makes coment that the implants don't cause cancer. I hope he is right.

Re: PolyTech Silimed Implants - Warning
That's for clarification!
I hope he's correct then for u! There's always something to worry about! I am a bit confused by all this- as the supposed 'best' surgeon I saw- privately, was advised to see him thru BAAPS for the surgery I was having- he was the most expensive too- he advised using these implants and said he preferred them- all very confusing
xx
