Indent above breast Empty Indent above breast

Post by Babster 2nd August 2011, 8:28 am

I had to have a revision to my right breast on Friday. My original BA was on 24 June but my right implant was sitting too high from day one causing a bulge/rounded look at the top. The left breast behaved beautifully almost immediately. This might have been ok if they were round implants and both looked the same, but they were anatomical implants and were supposed to look smooth down to the nipple. Anyway, the surgeon lowered the pocket on Friday and put a new implant in. From the side, the profile of the right breast looks smoother and the bulge doesnt look like it's there anymore. But I can now feel and see an indent between my upper chest and where the breast starts at the front. He has told me that this will settle and that this is just the muscle. I am totally fed up with all of this. I hope that this time it is right and will work itself out. He told me that it would settle last time when it didn't. Has anyone else experienced indentations/bumps and lumps in this area that subsequently settled? I am desperate for reassurance. I also had an indent into the cleavage area but this was apparently caused by the suction of the drain and this has now gone following the removal of the drain. Help!

I had an indent babe on the left breast inner side in my cleavage area, I think that got better when the breast had dropped and settled and as they softened it completely went altogether!

I absolutey understand your fears though after things going wrong first time around Indent above breast 571992I think those of us who have suffered a complication are far more critical of our boobs second time around for fear of having to go through the whole thing again and just wanting all to go well! so seeing some of the usual teething probs we get post-op healing can seem HUGE to those that have undergone an un-timely re-op.

However do be sure you keep your surgeon informed of your progress, including anything at all you're comcerned about, do't ever feel like you're going on, if you're unhappy, say it! and be sure it's all noted hunni.

Please let us know how you get on and I'm sending a massive HUG your way babe Indent above breast 571992xx

Thanks so much Cookie, it was so reassuring to hear that you experienced something similar that went away. Well not reassuring that you went throught it but good to know that it was resolved! I have been so depressed about all of this and so worried. Sleep doesn't come easy at the moment.

I ended up phoning my surgeon on Monday and tried to get an earlier appointment to see him but have to wait to next week when I was originally scheduled. But he called me for a chat in the meantime which was great and looked at some pics I sent. He advised he thought it was scar tissue contracting and would settle down. He said it would take 3 months for everything to sort itself out and not to stress about it. So I will try and be patient!

Thanks again. xx

I'm so pleased you're feeling a little more relaxed now, there's quite a lot of us here who fully understand exactly what you're going through babe. We all know the word PATIENCE! Is something none of us want to hear, but that along with TIME are two of the most important words of your recovery sweetie and we're always here if you need us anytime, we understand Babster. xx

Hi Loll. Sounds like you are are having a really rough time and I'm sorry to hear that. I had an initial dent from the cleavage area but that settled after the drain was removed. What I have now is a dent from the right side (high as the arm pit area) across the top of the right breast. I am now more than two weeks post op (revision). Saw surgeon today and he insists this will go. But your situation sounds totally different if you have gunk and puss. My incisions were in the fold. Where were yours? You said your nipples were stitched? What did you have done? I think you should be contacting your PS for some advice in case something isn't right.

I totally understand how you feel. I am not sleeping, so stressed by all this and want it to be over. The shooting pains are normal and morning boobs are all good too I believe! But it really does sound like you need to check in with your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.
