Pregnancy AFTER a BA? Empty Pregnancy AFTER a BA?

Post by Opal_Eyes 26th July 2011, 10:50 am

Can any of you gorgeous BA ladies tell me how long you waited before getting pregnant once you'd had your BA?

Not that I am planning on getting pregnant just yet but I would love to have another if possible, and the specialist I'm seeing at the hospital for my back has just told me I'm good to try once I've completed the intensive physio course in September. I was hoping to have a BA by the end of this year if possible, so maybe thinking of trying for a baby about a year after that??

I'm probably asking a REALLY stupid question. Sorry!

Hey - I asked this question a while ago and I've copied and pasted the answers.

As I say in the thread I am 32 and am yet to start a family even tho I do want kids 1 day.

I decided to go ahead with the BA and am having my op on 22nd September

Hi There

I have asked this question before and I've been given lots of opinions.... But can I please hear from anyone who had their BA then had a baby 12 months later.

I am due to have my BA in September. I am 32 years old and currently an empty 32c due to losing weight a couple of years ago - I am hoping to achieve a D cup.

If I have my BA in September and try for a baby say next September what will happen to my boobs?? I am not planning on breast feeding but I mean more from a appearance point of view....

I would very much like to hear from anyone who has personal experience.

Thanks so much ladies
T xxx

Jessica has a diary of her pregnancy after ba in the diary section hun. Most would advise you wait and have your baby first as it can have an affect on your new boobs and you may want another ba after just 2 years of having them.

I'd agree with misf1, could you start your family then have a BA? Surgeons will ask if you've completed your family in your consultation and they'll have to make you aware that they will change after pregnancy due to hormones etc.

It may also cause problems with aftercare too. Have a read of Jess' diary and see what you think

Hi Hun

I had a BA when I was 26 than had my first child at 29. I had no problems and my boobs survived it all...and I breast fed....and they still looked ok! Maybe I was lucky.

PS I wish I was 29 now :-(

Hi Tracy,
I had my BA a year ago and am hopefully planning on starting a family in next year or so too
I know it is much more sensible to wait till after youve had a family but i really wanted my BA and thought god i might not end up having a baby for years yet for alsorts of reasons maybe financial maybe medical so i just thought 'go for it' or i could end up never having my boobs done. You just dont know whats going to happen, hopefully we will have no trouble conceiving but you just never know, it took my friend over 2 years to get pregnant and another is about to embark on lengthy IVF treatment.

Re ruining them; apparently if you have very little breast tissue to begin with you have less chance of 'ruining' your boobs and also breastfeeding 'knackers' them more according to our lovely James McDiarmid.

Like Misf1 says I accept i will probably want/need another BA in a few years following having baby x x

Janeybird - thankyou. I am panicking a bit because I am 32 years old and think I 'should' be starting a family. But as you have just said I don't wanna wait any longer as it could take a while to get pregnant anyways. Feel like Im being a bit selfish but I just want to done now, haha xx

Just wanted to give my point of view. I am an ivf chick......i know now i can't concieve naturally. I didn't know this yrs ago. I had my son which was incredibly my 9th cycle.....then i had ba. ...Cause lets face it i never knew if i would be so lucky to fall pregnant again with our 2 remaining frozen embryos. Well i was lucky!!!! 10th go and i am now 33 wks pregnant :-) :-) i know its ideal to wait till after children but in my case we never knew if it would happen. Just a thought for you.
My friend by the way had ba years ago and has had 2 children and her boobies are fine :-) x

I know people have already given advice but just to add my friend had her BA two years ago and then met a new partner, she fell pregnant the year following her BA and her boobies are absolutely fine. Even without a BA no-one knows what effect pregnancy will have on their boobs, so I would do what ever is going to make you happier x

Thanks so much Tracy2010, that is really helpful! And it seems a common worry for a lot of us. Thanks for posting the thread. I guess I'll have to live in hope that my BA boobies survive. Can't be waiting even LONGER to get them done and who knows how long or even IF I'll actually be able to get pregnant! I can post my story in years to come and hopefully all will be well and I won't need another set of boobs post baby :-) xx

Post by Rach26 26th July 2011, 11:26 am

Hi girls.

A good friend of mine had her boobs done about 7 years ago. She had already got 2 kids and wasn't planning any more, but has been with a new guy for about 18 months and has had a baby with him. Little one is now about 6 months old and I saw my friend the other day. She knows I am having mine done and she said "for goodness sake don't have another baby after they're done". She said that her boobs are ruined since she had the baby, they've slipped and lost their volume up top, and she is now planning on getting them re done.

I have no personal experience of it, only passing what she told me, but I'm sure everyone is different xx

Thanks Rach - was your friend naturally bigger than an A cup before her BA? And what size did she go up to? I am tiny and have very little tissue so am hoping that whatever I get put in will be held on for dear life!

I supose everyone is different so there's no way to be sure. Opal Eyes did you put alot of weight on with your 1st baby? As I think alot of this has to do with how much weight you put on (and then lose).

I have been told if you keep your boobs well supported during pregnancy and use a firming lotion that you should be fine.

In an ideal world, I know I should wait until after I've had my family. But life's too short and it may take ages to get pregnant. I want to enjoy my boobs now and it was a difficult decision but Im glad I am going ahead now.

Good luck with your decision hun xx

Post by Opal_Eyes 26th July 2011, 12:24 pm

I totally agree Tracy, life is too short - and I've wanted a BA since I was 17!! That's half my life ago...... Shocked

I didn't put on lots of weight with my first baby, no hun. In fact I was mostly all bump until right at the end when I swelled up a bit more, and I was right back into my pre-pregnancy clothes less than a month after having her. I might not be so lucky second time around I guess, especially if I can't breastfeed, but since I don't have any sagging to speak of (a bonus of no boobs!) then I'm hoping the implants will be held in place tightly and not need replacing again soon after having another baby. IF I am lucky enough to have another baby! Lol

Best of luck to you too, hun :) xx

Hi hun.

My friend is naturally tiny. She's a size 6 and originally she had slight asymmetry so had (I think) 340 and 380. I think she was around an A before her op and she ended up a DD. Post baby she is now an E.

I think that if you wear a good and supportive bra for the pregnancy then you shouldn't have much problem. But my friend wore her normal push up bras so that probably won't have helped!!
