is there something wrong?!?!?!?
So my nipples have been burning like mad, and I thought that was because the nerves were coming back to them.... but i just touched them just now and they are completely numb to touch....I don't understand? I thought they would be ultra sensitive and painful to touch? Maybe the pain is coming from somewhere else that I can't put my finger on but I could have sworn it was my nipples? Really worried now..........xxx

It will be the nerves in your skin repairing themselves. I remember haveing itches and because my boobs were numb scratching didn't make it feel better. Was so annoying.

How long after did the feeling come back to your nipples? I'm not sure if I'm healing slowly or quickly being 11 days post op? xxx

Sensation came back after about 2 months to one nip and the other came back gradually over a year for me. I was a slow healer.

I keep getting random sunburn sensations, not lost feeling in my nipples (yet) though they've been sensitive as hell!! Damn nerves! Xx

Mine are sensitive too- but I think I have feeling in them- that was a huge gamble for me! Is there something to put on them? It even feels like my bra is rubbing them raw :(

“singing babe” Im going the same thing, so I'm guessing this is all normal. My nipples feels sore, like it's had a good sucking on. But when I touch it, I can't feel anything. Weird!

My PS warned me about this and said that in the vast, vast, vast majority of cases this is only temporary!!! Happy healing. xoxo

Glad to hear someone going through the same thing as me 'hopeful' :) Makes it better knowing other people are going through the same sensations!
Moongal, what did your ps tell you? Mine warned me that some people don't get their feeling back, but he never explained that it would feel like they're burning, but not actually have any feeling in them when they are touched....is it something quite rare then?
Thanks for all of your help everyone! X

Hmmm...let's see. I think this depends on your incision site, and I'm not sure what a doughnut uplift is...is that like a lollipop lift?
My PS said that in fact, it is actually more frequent to have HYPERsensitivity of the nipple post-PA vs HYPOsensitivity. I am assuming that means burning sensation/feeling. I think he was also talking about this in the context of having an inframammary incision site. The nerves that supply the nipple have a very low chance of being cut if you go this way...especially if you go under the muscle....but you still get the hypersensitivity issue...
If the doughnut lift involved incisions around your areola, then I would expect there to be some burning etc. associated with that. Does that make sense?
Hope that helps a bit!

Re: is there something wrong?!?!?!?
Yeh I get what you mean, it does make sense, because my incision was all the way around my areolar and thats it, no-where else. So I guess its all of the scar tissue healing and maybe I'm confusing that with my nipple because it is so close?
Ah it's a mind-field isn't it! So much to think about and its hard because it varies from person to person! lol xxx
