moving from sport bra to normal bras??
Hi there
I'm 6 weeks post op now and my ps said i had to wear this sports bra day and night for 6 weeks. So now do i just stop wearing it at all and go to normal bras in the day and nothing at night or do i need to make it a gradual move do you think? What did you girls do? Can't wait to get rid of this sports bra!

Re: moving from sport bra to normal bras??
I thought I'd be thowing away the sports bra after 6 weeks, but didn't find wired bras comfortable. I had to ease myself into wearing wire again, an hour a day untill it felt comfy. I also bought a support bra to wear to bed at night as it was like my comfort blanket for my new boobs.
Re: moving from sport bra to normal bras??
I continued to wear my MaCom bra at night until I was about 8 weeks post op. It was much more comfy to sleep in than a normal bra. And I didn't go straight into underwired bras - I carried on with one which I had taken the wires out of and had been wearing occasionally from about 5 weeks post op. I started wearing underwired bras regularly at 8 weeks and I wear them at night now. I slept braless last night, but was a bit sore in the morning, so don't think I'll try that again for a while! Xx

Wear what is comfortable. I also found myself ripping off the underwires.
Now I have properly fitted bras, I can wear them all day they are so comfy.

Do what your PS says - but just an idea - I bought tank tops that have a "built in shelf bra" - not an underwire - just an extra band of fabric that acts exactly as a sports bra - and I sleep in those instead of a sportsbra.
Just the different "fit" of the tank vs the sports bra gives me some relief at night.

I can't seem to let my sports bra go it's so comfy.
took me a while to get used to underwires again, still wearing my sports bra at nite don't think I'm brave enough to let them loose just yet!!lol.
Do what u feel is comfy hunni but I warn u it will take a little getting used too so put underwires on for a couple hrs a day xx

Re: moving from sport bra to normal bras??
Yup my PS told me I could wear "whatever I liked" from 4 weeks post op! Although he did say he was really happy with my recovery at 2 weeks post op and that I was recovering better than average. I spent today in a lovely underwired normal bra and it felt amazing! Although I will be wearing my support bra to bed for the foreseeable future lol xxx

Re: moving from sport bra to normal bras??
Vixen - my sportsbra is lightly padded throughout the whole cup - I think that's fine - just extra cushioning! (Especially helpful when your nipples go on fire from nerve regeneration!!)
As long as it's not a push-up you should be fine. But if you want you could ring the clinic to be sure.
