Hi Girls,

I am 26 years old and I have a fibroadenoma in my breast 17mm in diameter. I am going to book in my BA for sometime in the next 2 months with Dr Zion Chan in Sydney. As he is only a cosmetic Surgeon, he can't remove the lump.

I am planning on having:
** 400cc Textured round Eurosilicone Implants, under the muscle.
** I am 164cm - 50kg - Size 8/10A Bra

I am having a fine needle biopsy today to confirm it isn't cancerous (I have 2 ultrasounds that indicate it could be innocent).
If it isnt cancerous, I am considering leaving it where it is (5cm above my nipple).
Dr Zion Chan says it won't be an issue to leave it there, but suggested I take it out first.

I dont want to have 2 separate operations, or try to find a different surgeon who will take the lump out and put the implants in.

My question is...

Do any of you ladies have a fibroadenoma and have had breast implants?

Thanks Muchly :)

Firstly I'd just like to say how much I hope for good news from the biopsy babe, I know what a difficult time that is to go through from my own personal experience, I had a small tumour in both breasts and had to have those removed through a lumpectomy when I too was in my early twenties.

As far as anyone having had experience of leaving lumps be here, I don't think we've had anyone with the particular problem you stated hun.

If it were me, those particular lumps do have the potential to grow, also after surgery, it may be more prominant, based on that alone babe, I think I would personally be more inclined to have the lumps removed before progressing with BA surgery Dee.

So sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear babe, but that's just my opinion.

I wish you lots of luck with both the biopsy and your BA sweetness, whatever choice you make, we'll be here should you need us hun. Fibroadenomas and Breast Implants 571992 xx

Hi Hun I have fibroadenomas in both my breasts I had one removed 3 years ago which was 5cm so I was left with quite a noticeable scar around my nipple. I have since found that I have 6 more lumps all together but chose not to have them removed due to the findings from the biopsy I previously had done and didn't want to be left with any more scars. They are also much smaller. I am now 3 months post BA and although I can still feel my lumps I can't see them anymore than I could before. If I could have had them removed at the same time as having my implants put in I would have chosen to but I'm not sure if that's possible, I certainly wouldn't let it put you off Hun because I don't feel it has altered the look of mine at all! Good luck xxx

Hi Amykate and Cookie :)

Thanks so much for your replies. I really appreciate the information and advice. :)

It is good to know that you can still have implants and not see the lumps. I am currently waiting for the results of my biopsy so fingers crossed its not cancerous. I should find out tomorrow.

Cookie, you do make a very good point in taking the lump out first. I just need to weigh up the pros and cons etc. I will be speaking with a general surgeon next week about taking it out. So hopefully it could happen soon and with very minimal scars :) I am so keen to have my BA!! I just need to be patient and do it right. I would rather not have 2 surgeries as the cost and time off work would be a pain :( Its a tough decision to make, knowing that it could cause no harm if it is confirmed to be a fibroadenoma.

Once again, thank so much for taking the time to reply <3
