Still very sleepy.... Empty Still very sleepy....

Post by singingbabe_123 2nd July 2011, 3:51 pm

Hey all,
I am 2days post op (doughnut uplift and ba) and I was hoping all of the GA would be out of my system by now. All I want to do is sleep, I mean I am soooooo sleepy that I will doze off whenever I sit down! My mam has given me a row for going back to bed because she said I could develop DVT.
Is it normal to be this sleepy still?
Also....how much is it normal for scars to weep? I'm terrified mine are re-opening because I can see dry blood on my patches?
Thanks guys

heya, i am also still very tired. You won't get DVT if you're walking a few times a day, don't worry :))
I had dried blood too on my dressings but when i went to see my surgeon due to my pain yday she didn't even mention it, just changed the dressings (as i was having an ellergy to them) and gave me some spare in case they weep some more!!!

I felt tired for about a week after my op and had to take a little nap in the afternoons, also I wouldn't worry if it's dried blood you can see I had the same and everything was fine when the dressings came off. I did scare myself a bit though when I saw blood on my bra one day - what had happened without me realising it was I washed around my dressings and the water mixed with the dried blood then my white bra ended up with what look liked fresh blood on it x

deep vein thrombosis - where you get a blood clot in your leg due to the combination of having surgery and then not walking around for days.

causes pain and swelling. Can be life threatening if the clot travels up your leg into your lung. Higher risk if you're on the pill but generally don't worry as long as you're walking about.
