Am I being vain? Empty Am I being vain?

Post by jadeepinkladee 20th June 2011, 8:40 pm

I told some people I want my boobs done as I am unhappy about them and told me I was being vain and stupid as they look good. I have tried to explain but they dont listen. I have decided I want implants an uplift and maybe an areola reduction and because I want so much done I am started to think I am vain. I really dont want people to think that of me but I really want them done so I can feel womanly and confident.

Do you think im being vain?

Ha ha no, do your frinds wear make up, do they wear nice clothes, do they maximise their good bit and hide their worst? If yes that could also be considered vain couldn't they. Being vain is only caring about your appearance and nothing else. What you are doing is enhancing a part of you that you are deeply unhappy with. To be honest I have to say having a BA is a very brave thing to do. It is quite a step to take and it's very scary being pre BA. Maybe they are a bit jealous that you actually have the guts to do it. Many people are too scared. Also if any of them wear contact lenses rather than glasses could also be considered vain. Dont worry hun, real friends will be supportive, even when they can't quite understand it. My friends who had children totally understood, while others who are not really unhappy with their breasts didn't quite understand but knew if I wasn't desperatly unhappy about it that I wouldn't be doing it. They were supportive and now joke they dont want to sit next to me on the beach lol.
I think if money were no object you would be surprised at how many people would change something, even if it was laser eye surgery to correct vision and never have to wear glasses.

As long as I'm comfortable doing a procedure,I do it no matter what anyone thinks.I don't even ask the Hubby.I figure I work and I pay for it so no one else should have a say in it.If you feel you want to have the surgery then I say go for it!We no longer have to age, sag,or live with a body parts we want to alter like our parents and grandparents did.So why not use these medical advancements to improve ourselves if we choose?

Don't let their feelings put a shadow over your desires.Maybe it's not right for them but it is right for you.

Misf1,I agree with you.Your so right!

Too right, they sound like shallow minded, opinionated people who probably don't have a clue how long you've been thinking about this. No one takes major surgery lightheartedly. Misf1 is so right it's a very brave step to take when you've reached the decision to improve yourself. Do it for yourself and you won't go far wrong. x

Vain? i think a lot that what i have done is Vain; But are we not all vain? We are allowed to be vain and care about how we look. Nothing wrong with that.

Does being vain makes you a less of a person? a less good or caring one? a less of a parent a friend etc..

I think that you will find that the answer to the above is NO!
You are who you are - you care about how you look - I think good for you!

The happier you are the happier people around you will feel. This is a simple fact of reality.

So i think; what they are really thinking is - i wish i had the guts to do sth about sth that really bothers me about myself.

Keep smiling and do it for yourself

i think everyone has a slight degree of vainess to them...caring about what you look like, make up, clothes not smelling of BO!! surely thats the same???!! and so bloody what!? if it makes you happy, go for it. im glad you plan on still going ahead, they will all be super jealous when they see your amazing new boobs i can guarantee! also makes me laugh how ppl like to tell you, your boobs r fine....oh sorry, i didnt realise youve seen my naked breasts before!!!! ha ha. ppl love having an opinion when they dont even know what your boobs look like, normally they will be disguised with all the padding an cleavage boosting materials available. a lot of ppl disagree cos they love u, n want you to be carefull, but i think majority r too chicken to get it don themselves n r scared you will look hotter...which you will! yahoo

Is it any of their business? No!

Do they wear makeup? Have manicures? Hair extensions? Fake tans? Go to the gym? Whiten their teeth? Wear perfume? All those things can be considered vain. Doesn't mean they are!

Some women sadly feel that putting others down makes them feel better. It's low self esteem. I bet if you offered to pay for a BA for them they wouldn't turn it down.

You'll really learn who your true friends are on this journey.

No hun you're not being vain at all. I have gone through exactly the same emotions and believe me it's not nice when people are against you! I am going through the guilt stage at the mo as my sis-in-laws step mum died of breast cancer last year and I'm thinking omg I should just be grateful etc etc... But at the end of the day I have wanted my boobs done for ages, life is too short so Im going for it! You don't know what is round the corner so if you can do something that improves your confidence then i say go for it. If you were vain you'd be wanting every single thing done possible x
