Can't upload an avatar! Empty Can't upload an avatar!

I'm having an issue trying to upload a pic for my avatar... The part on the avatar tab where you cluck to upload a file from your computer us all grayed out and I can't even click on it... I deleted the default avatar thinking that would help but it didn't. Sigh... shrug

I did exactly that and still don't know how to upload an avatar.please help??and can I do it through my iPod or do u have to do it on ur pc? shrug
