whats wrong with them?
hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, i joined to ask a question that is stressing me out :(
I had my breast implants done in November last year (2010) and its been a little over six months. There is definately something wrong with one of them. Now they have settled to their normal postion one is noticible lower than the other.I had cohesive implants under the muscle.
I have either capsular contracture on my right or my left has bottom out (i think thats what they call it). I just dont know what one. My left breast (bottom out?) is lower, moves very easy in every position and my nipple points a little to the left. My right breast (capsular contracture?) is tight, hard and my nipple points a little upward.
I dont know anyone with breast implants so i dont know how hard are they supposed to be?? What is a normal 'fake' boob or scar tissue?
How much movement does your breats implants have?
I have an appointment for July, but its killing me not knowing. The thought of having to go under the knife again worries me. If anyone can help it would be very appreciated. If you need to ask me anything for more info thats fine :)

Re: whats wrong with them?
I dont know about unders hun, my boobs feel slightly fimer than a natural breast and they move just like them, but I had overs. If you are worried hun, you really should go back to your surgeon and tell him how unhappy you are.
Re: whats wrong with them?
i have an appointment with him in July. It is annoying but i dont blame him, your body just does this stuff i guess there is no way of knowing what will happen. I have a feeling it is CC in my right breast. When i wake up in the morning my breast hurts around the outside of the implant and when i lie facedown i feel it pushing into me. I can understand them getting softer but not harder. oh well...better save my pennies lol

Re: whats wrong with them?
Im not sure..i wasnt told. He said if i come back within a year with a problem his fees will be voided. But the implant, hospital cover and anethetist are still really expensive. I will just see what he says. The scary thing is that im pretty sure my right has CC.....but my left looks alot like it has bottomed out. even if not compared to the other breast. Im worried i might be the one in a million that has each problem with one of the breasts :/

Aw hun, I'd see what your surgeon has to say and what he can do for you, if you aren't happy with what he has to say it may be worth going to get a 2nd opinion somewhere else.
Re: whats wrong with them?
yeah, im going to have to wait and see. It will be the longest months wait in my life. Hopefully my next post about them will be good news. Maybe im just being paranoid. Thanx for your advice :)

Re: whats wrong with them?
If I were in a lot of pain babe and I felt my breast was distorted at 6 months post-op babe I don't think I'd be waitting till July to get it see to.
I'd call and make an appointment to see your surgeon now sweetheart, it may just be that you have a stuburn boobie and it needs a little encouragement to drop down, or if it is early CC sometimes massage if caught early can help put that right and allow the implant to fallow and soften into the pocket.. I'm not saying this is what your surgeon will do but my implant wouldn't budge and between the 3-4 month post-op mark I had to massage my implant into place and it's been fine since.
I'd suggest you get seen now babe and if you do need further post-op advice to help your recovery, the sooner you get it the better really hunni.
Also sorry to read that IF you do have a complication that only your surgeons fees will be covered... really hoping it's not CC for you lovely. xx

Re: whats wrong with them?
I certainly wouldn't be waiting until July either hun
I would be making an appointment to go back and see your PS now xx
Have you got any pictures uploaded? Maybe you could upload some and then ask James, or one of the other resident PS's on the site their opinion?? xx
Sorry to hear you are having problems xx Hope it's nothing but I would certainly consider seeing your PS sooner xx

Re: whats wrong with them?
thanx for your support. I called and i can get in mid June. I found a friend of a friend that has breats implants and she let me feel them and see them. Im 95% sure its not cc. My left has totally bottomed out. I realised my right breast hurst because i sleep on that side everynight and i think im putting pressure on it. I would be glad if it was that, because then the implant can just get moved i wont need to buy a new one. All the cc sites say its better to replace it completely.

Re: whats wrong with them?
If you have early CC babe then it is possible to recover and leave the implant in place...
CC is graded using something called Baker Grades -
Grade 1 - The breast is soft, and looks natural. This is pretty close to normal for all breast implant patients.
Grade II - The breast is a little firm, but appears natural.
Grade III - The breast is firm, and is begins to appear distorted.
Grade IV - The breast is hard and painful, and has become quite distorted.
In general a re-op would only be considered for grades 3 and 4 and then the implant/s would be removed and a capsulectomy performed to allow the new implant/s to create fresh scar tissue.

Re: whats wrong with them?
Hi hun
I was diagnosed with CC in February, originally I was treated for mastitis and given a couple of courses of antibiotics.
Fortunately for me I seem to have caught it quite early on and was advised to quadrant massage, which I do daily, this has made an immense difference and now both boobs feel and look the same.
The best advice I can offer is to see your PS asap, & try not to worry too much.
Take care & good luck. xx
