Numb still after 17 days post op? Empty Numb still after 17 days post op?

Hi girls ..

Just wanting your thoughts, as bit unsure if this is normal. Had my op 17 days ago - very little pain at the time just numb, and all fine until days 10-12ish, then right boob especially so sore. This is especially top and side and so sore that to hold it hurts more. Was taking Ibuprofen but it wasn't making a difference. Yesterday was the absolute worst ever, we took kids to funfair, I didnt go on anything, but travelling in the car was agony - its even worse in the passenger seat.

Today, pain has eased quite a bit, but still totally numb in right, and partially in left. They look like they are on their way down, and are even etc, but rock solid and cant even lift to see scars - have to limbo in front of mirror Numb still after 17 days post op? 557141

Im not back to clinic until 9th and dont want to over react. I value your advice, you lot have given me more knowledge than any clinic has!

You're fine hunni Numb still after 17 days post op? 571992

What you're experiencing with the sensitivity and the numbness is all about the nerves, the most sensitive are the parts that are healing, the numbness, well, that's normal too and can take anything up to a year to for sensation to come back, most return within months, I had my right nipple and side of breast numb till 13 months post-op till it returned.

The hardness, all due to the swelling hun, as that subsides they won't feel as hard.

You're doing OK sweetness, try not to do too much this early post-op as you will find they really ache hun, it's your bodys way of telling you to REST! XXX

Echo what Cookie says above, I had the numbness for a good while - only just really gone now but your brain kinda gets used to it so after a while it doesn't feel as numb anymore, if that makes sense! And then you just realise sensation is back again.

One other early recovery thingy I had too was after the soreness which is really intense so you have my sympathy, comes itchiness. This again is a necessary evil, drives you mad temporarily but passes fortunately very quickly. Just avoid the temptation to scratch, it doesn't make the itch go away, if anything it makes it worse and your skin is sore and stretched anyway so you could damage it.

Good Luck Babe and COngratulations xx
