Hi hun. The length of recovery varies from person to person. I was doing light housework around day 4. I was back at work in my office job after 1 week. I didn't drive until day 7 but I could have driven before that my OH was here so he just drove. As for my kids they are 6 and 5 and I haven't told them anything about either op. Kids just don't seem to notice boobs like we do. Mine haven't said anything if I told my daughter she would have told her entire class cos thats just what shes like. My son however says mummys boobies make the best pillows but thats all es noticed lol xx

Hi. I have 4 children and my daughter is the eldest and she's 9 this year. I didn't tell her too much but I didn't want to not say anything so I said I was having my boobs 'fixed' cos they were a bit broken after having 4 children and breastfeeding! She seemed happy enough with that. My son who is almost 6 noticed that I'd written 'NEW BOOBS' on the calendar but he didn't ask questions!
I've been terrible with housework. I can't stand things lying around so from day 1 I've been tidying up. I think you just get on with it if you're a parent don't you! My two youngest boys are 2 and 1 and I've been lifting them (carefully) since day 1 too. Sometimes its unavoidable! My 2 year old had me running round the trampoline on day 6 and I was making him laugh chanting 'ow it hurts my boobies' as we were walking round!
I've been lucky cos I've had my hubby home to help me and he went back to work yesterday. He's always telling me off for doing too much and I know I should rest more than I do but I always stop for a little sit down if I feel I've overdone it.
I think you'll be fine! Oh and we did 'the do' on around day 4 or 5 I think and I kept my sports bra on but popped the twins out to give hubby a little tease! They were completely numb so it was fine!
Hope I've helped! And good luck! X x x

I'm not so keen on the clicky mums either or playground witches as I call them. I started taking my Arnica a week before my op this time but I'm not sure if I took it before that when I had my first op. I didn't put any cream on after until I got the go ahead that my incisions had healed properly but I did put a bit on the top of my boobs nowhere near my incisions a couple of days after the op.

Think I might start rubbing cocoa butter on them now only because I have little elasticity in my skin and really would like to minimise the chance of any more stretch marks (my whole body already looks like the road map of britain thanks to my wonderfull kids lol) wether it will help or not I dont know but figured if i do it I cant look back and wish I had.. x

I drove on day two to go get my hair done.. I felt great and had no problems.. my stitches started burning a little by the time I got home so i took some pain pills and slept the rest of the day.. I am day 3 right now and sitting at work just doing some paperwork.. drove my kids to school and everything this morning.. I have a 15 mo old that I can't pick up..I am trying to be really careful as far as lifting my arms up and stuff but honestly i feel great! I know everyone is different. I had mine above the muscle so I think that made a big difference.. I am lucky I haven't had "morning boob" or had to do the butt shuffle to get off the couch or anything.. Good luck to you!!

Hi Kezza,
I have 2 children aged 5 and 3 and I managed fine. The first few days I was a bit zonked out from the painkillers and GA, but still managed to do some light housework. I went shopping the day of my BA to get a new sports bra (just popped into one shop) and I went properly shopping for my daughters 3rd birthday on the 4th day. I was driving by Day 7 but I could have driven before, however it was a bit stressful changing gears.
We are all different though, but as long as you listen to your body you'll be fine.
I didn't tell my children as they are too young, I just told my 5 year old that I had a bad back, although my 3 year old heard me saying my boobies hurt. I heard them arguing one morning about it, my 5 year old yelling, "No! Mummy's back hurts!" and my 3 year old shouting back, "No! It's mummy's boobies that hurt!" Hysterical

How soon after Empty Re: How soon after

Post by Julie123 29th April 2011, 8:35 pm

I am 7 post op and I had unders.

I have 3 kids at home, 2 girls 17 and 15 and a 9 year old son.
I told the girls what I was having done, my 17 ear old wasn't too impressed to begin with but my 15 year old just asked if she could have my old bras as we were the same size.

I went into work yesterday for a while and my job is quite strenuous (lifting bridal gowns over brides heads and rehanging onto rails and they are heavy) but I sort of adapted a bit and let my staff do the lifting. I went shopping today for new bras (more sports bras) and although I seem to get tired more easily it's just the discomfort, mainly from my band that I seem to be suffering from.
I haven't driven yet as I haven't needed to but I will have to tomorrow.

I was told by my ps no marital activities for 6 weeks as the raise in blood pressure could cause a bleed. Has anyone else experienced problems with this before the 6 week time?

Hey Kezza,
I used olive oil the whole way through both of my pregnancies, head to toe, not a stretch mark in sight! I much preferred it to cocoa butter! Xx

Omg 6 weeks lol thats like forever lol...

I used everything in all 3 of my pregnancies and my skin still stretched and marked. It was that bad that my stretch marks where ripping and bleeding (not nice) my consultant said it was due to having no elasticity in my skin. Im not worried to much about stratch marks as Im use to them now however would love to avoid new ones lol..
