Worried about left boob
Hey girlies,
So had ma ba 6days ago. My boobs are fine no pain at all just morning aching etc. My left boob however sometimes feels heavier, it doesnt look physically bigger but sometimes i feel as though their are bubbles or some liqud moving or something.
I called the nurse and she said it was nothing to worry about bit i just feel a little scared. Has anyone had this? In pictures with the bra on it looks like the left is bigger but when i take it off and take a picture they look the same!!! Arghhh im confused and worried just hope it is all okay.
Thanks rae xx

Yup, your nurse is quite right babe - Nothing at all to worry about!
The liquid and bubbles you're experiencing is just fluid and air in the capsule, they naturally do disperse sweetie on their own, you might even hear noises coming from your boobs, it's just air, but some ladies refer to this as a 'farting boobie' haha!
The differences in your breast are normal too, think of your surgery as two seperate operations on each breast, one breast may have suffered more trauma than the other and might take longer to heal than the other and look/feel different.
You're doing just fine Rae... take it easy hunni and enjoy the rest. xxx

Re: Worried about left boob
Its right they are too separate ops and heal differently. I had quite alot more swelling in one boob and at one point it was a whole cupsize bigger than the other. It freaked me out for a while as it seemed like it would never change. It did even out though, not perfectly as they weren't perfect before but it was no where near as bad. At one point I padded the other side of my sports bra out with cotton wool breast pads because the difference was noticable in my clothes. It does get better hun just takes a little patience, which I know is hard when you are'nt sure whether somethings a problem or not. Take it easy xx

Re: Worried about left boob
tj105, if I remember right, you're about 3 weeks post-op sweetness?
At that stage its very normal for one breast to still feel sore, you may have read this many time here, but it's tru that each breast underwent a seperate operation, one may have suffered more trauma during the op than the other and that's why one is healing faster than the other.
It will stop aching hunni and will get better, try using an icepack (you can use a bag of frozen peas or rice if no ice pack) across the tops of your boobs, it really helps with the swelling and does help with that aching feeling too babe.
Hope you feel better soon

You're just fine to get up in the best way you can hun, but try not to put any strain on your arms hun...
I always tell everyone coming up to their BA who I talk to "WORK ON THOSE STOMACH MUSCLES, YOU'RE GONNA NEED 'EM!"
Right then they didn't realise quite why I said this till they got to where you are hunni! LOL
Getting up is quite an art form and it kiiiiiiiiills ya stomach! LOL
I'd cross my arms clutching onto my boobs, start with a gentle rock back n forth, then the countdown... one.... two.... threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
On the count of 3 that would be it, I'd rock myself up and ready for the bum shuffle off the bed!
I can laugh about it now hunni, but babes, I know what you're going through, you'll be alright sweetness, it's tough on your body at the moment, but day by day you'll get stronger sweetie, it's all gonna be so worth it. xxx

Day 3/4 are usually the worst when the swelling kicks in the most, so don't panic if you feel a little sorer tomorrow... watch out for feeling low too, it's around the first week you suffer the boobie blues babe. It might help you to have a little read through this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] sweetheart, if anything it might give you a giggle.
You're be OK though sweetie, generally after the first week, things start to get better slowly day by day. xx
