Re: Seeing Surgeon today
Hmm i suppose what needs weighing up is do u have these implants then IF you get CC in another 10 years face a difficult removal OR do you get other implants and accept the fact that you may get CC again in few years and have to have them swapped more easily.
If you think you will be having a re-op in 10 years is it not best to go for ones that are NOT difficult to remove? l

Re: Seeing Surgeon today
Right so here's where I am at today. I didn't sleep much last night, mainly coz I had a bit of a row with my lovely bf who whilst discussing my upcoming breast size he started talking about ex girlfriends lovely boobs! Well ok if I'm honest that's what I heard but what he actually said was "I've dated small woman years ago and having larger boobs didn't make them look odd".....I flew into a Yetti hissy fit and may have said something along the lines of "DO I EVER COMMENT ON MY EX BOYFRIENDS WILLY SIZE?????"
We talked this morning and we're all good and fine and I realise that I'm a little sensitive right now, what with my lumpy bumpy boobs and upcoming surgery
I also keep thinking about this polytunnel implant (not that's not the name but I keep forgetting what it's called) James (lovely doctor on here) has told me they are a good option for someone who's had CC already but I have gone back and asked him about the comment re them being hard to take out. Waiting for reply.
I've just been researching and found another site talking about how you could have a reaction where your boobs go bright red with this implant size....Oh great so now I'll be getting rid of CC but gaining frigging tomatoes!!! :tears:
Still I am thinking about them. The pros are they really do reduce the risk of CC again and also they stay in place really well, the cons seem to be that they take longer to settle and are harder to remove.
BUT I really think if something goes wrong again I can't put myself through this...mentally or financially (and at some point I'd like to buy back the child I sold to raise the money) so even if something went wrong I wouldn't want them removed.
So do I a) have normal implants and risk CC again or b) go with this other type and hope all is well?
I'm soooooooo tired of thinking about it

Re: Seeing Surgeon today
Oh and Jen86 I never went through companies I have always gone direct with surgeons. My first was with a Harley Street surgeon called Jan Stanek and to be honest I had my implants 10 years ago so not likely I'm covered. This time I'm with John Davison and from what I have read he is a really good surgeon.

well ...... i can imagine you are sensitive right now, for god's sake.. // so// i think i would want to undertsand why the cc happened in the first place? ... // i mean maybe its something you could avoid/minimize happening again if you knew why it happened....... for instance maybe cause you were smoking before. since you are not now maybe the chance is lower. // i would also want to understand what exactly happens if they try to remove these other ones. why is it diffficult and what happens if they need to be removed. // i would be tired of thinking about it too.. // hopefully the drs here can give you some more helpful info so you dont have to sell your other kids......

Re: Seeing Surgeon today
Lol thanks Charms. It's all changes since yesterday. Yesterday I found out I have PIPs. I'm so upset as I'm now thinking I have ruptured PIPS rather than Capsular Contracture. It's all getting complicated and until 5th May when they open me up I won't really know what's going on in there.

Re: Seeing Surgeon today
Bless you Charms. I woke up crying just a short while ago as the next 3 weeks are going to go so slowly. I hope it is Capsular Contracture but I'm not thinking it's 80% chance they are ruptured PIPS. I'm so angry at my old surgery for not ever getting hold of me. I have a really unusual surname so I would have been very easy to find. I am going to get a solicitor involved and I'm taking this further. They have been totally neglectful in not advising me. I originally used a man who is supposed to be one of the Countries leading Plastic Surgeons!!!!!!!

Re: Seeing Surgeon today
thast a travesty, i think you should definitely look into what you can do. // its shameful. // i mean drs are human and nobody's perfect but i do really think that is pretty neglectful. they could have sent a letter to everyone who had that procedure to warn them. how hard is that. instead they just stay quiet and wait for people to find out. i think thats shameful. // @@
just try to stay cool for now.. easier said than done.. but i know the drs here will take good care of you.....// eat.. sleep.. breathe.. & drink lots of water so your tissues are nice and clean and hydrated. @@ *fingers crossed emoticon* *shaking fist emoticon*
