Advise - really worried about new boobs !!!

Hello ladies, Could anyone help me i had my BA last thursday and everything went fine, iv been on top of the world since with hardly any pain but today iv felt really depressed and my left boob feels really hard, numb and painful and i dont feel too well but am not sure if thats because of the codiene painkillers and iv not eaten today. Any advice would be great as im really worrying now

Pain killers and not eating can give you an upset stomach. As for them feeling hard this is probably due to swelling still and the post op depression is very common. It could be that the painkillers may be too strong or not agreeing with you so it may be worth seeing if you can manage on a different over the counter pain killer. But you must try to eat a little something with them even if it's a dry cracker or bread

Also to be fair i have not really rested and been shopping doing housework and iv got 3 kids that are off school, but i find it hard to do nothing and i just crack on, but i dont know if its seranoma or capsular thingy or if iv just over-done it ? Im such a nightmare ! Lol xx

Hey Carrie... By any chance are u still taking the strong painkillers? As I felt down and sick when I was taking them!

And defo to do with the codeine.... You shouldn't even take calpol, ibruprofen on a empty stomach!

When I went for my 2 week check up they said my leftt boobs is a lot harder than my right. But now 3 weeks their softening up nicely.

If u do have any concerns give ur clinic a call xxxxx

Hey Hun just want to reassure you. You sound like you need to rest. Seronoma or seroma as my nurse calls it, I think both are correct, are quite rare. I was told by my clinic that 2 maybe 3 women get it out of all the thousands of boobs they do each year. I was unlucky and got it! You're only a few days post op and your boobs heal at different rates. I know it's hard with kids but you need to rest more so that your body can focus on healing. Also worrying slows down the healing process and lowers the immune system. It's true! So laughter really is s good medicine. It's hard not to worry , because the slightest twinge or burning sensation makes you think you have everything possible. So sit down put you're feet up have a brew snd rest for a bit xx

Awww thanks ladies, iv sat down for about half an hour and feel better already ! Im still worried as my left boob is still really hurting and have a burning feeling but not in my right boob ? It just makes me wonder as if iv over-done it then would it make them both feel the same ?

The burning feeling is the nerves fixing back together hun.

My nurse told me that they will both heal differently. My right was slower as I use my right arm for the do things.

Just remember they can heal at complletley seperate rates xxxx

I cant speak from experience but I know Codine and other pain killers can make u feel sicky. Plus if u are over doing it then it's ur bodies way of saying slow down! It must be hard with 3 kids on their easter hols but try and rest up hun, bet u'll feel loads better for it.xx

I'm feeling great now! Still get achy in the evenings if I've had a busy day.
Am now counting down the next 3 weeks so I can wear a padded normal bra- my nipples are a bit crazy so they can go hard without any warning so I'm having to go for baggy tops to disguise that Hysterical

I've really learnt to listen to my body through all this which is great. Just slow down hun- and also- milk it while uve goit a good reason too! Haha xxxxx

Lol ! yes my nipples have been the same, iv been resting for a while now and my leftie is not hurting as much now thank god ! I think because iv felt so good the past few days and now its hit me how much iv done Lol Im a nightmare xxx

You MUST rest hun. I know it's hard with the kids but do the minimum required. Hey at the end of the day there will always be dust and dirt to replace what you're hoovering up etc (makes me sound like a minger and I'm so OCD about housework) but you must rest up a bit.

The codeine is a nightmare, makes me feel spaced out and sick oh and constipated!!!! After my 2nd BA I was taking this and I was pregnant at the time (long story) and I thought I was having a miscarriage and got taken to hospital in a Nee Norr. I did a little fart in the ambulance Blush

and said to the medic "ohhh I feel a bit better now". Turned out all I needed was a good poo Hysterical

Awww thankyou ladies well im ok, i went to Riverside and the doctor and nurse checked me out and the nurse was saying they are fine and beautiful boobies Lol and i said well they dont feel beautiful at the moment ! Lol and the doctor said that they are both the same size ( to me my lefty felt bigger )
and he looked at my scar and said thats perfect, there's no bleeding or weeping and said have i been overdoing it which i said yes i have been, so he said thats what it is so rest and dont do anything, which is so hard as im OCD with housework and iv got 3 kids off school. But im in a lot of pain so its making it easier to just sit and rest now
