Update on my BA and...is this 'normal'?
3 weeks and 2 days post op ladies I'm feeling great now! First 2 weeks were a bit of a struggle - did not prepare for how I'd feel - though I guess you can't really do that but yeah - SO happy with the new me! ...finally had bedroom fun and my OH loves the new me too!
You've all been so great on here - it really does help through the whole process!
I had my check up consultation Thursday just gone (13 days post op), and my surgeon is very pleased with my progress. He said scars are healing well and looks as it should be at this stage. My skin is still slightly tight on the top of the breasts but getting better and less shiney - also softening lots too.
One thing I was slightly worried about was that the right one has dropped slightly more than the left but am I right in thinking this is because I'm right handed and using this side more than the left? - it's not a big difference or anything but thought I'd ask to see if this is normal. My numbness is still in areas but loads more feeling than at first so positive about it coming back fully too!
My surgeon said I'm okay to wear different bras now too - though I'm still in the sports one, feel like its my safety blanket lol! I'm only 3 weeks so obviously the swelling has yet to go down and I don't want to be spending lots of cash on bras that won't fit again in a few weeks. He did say stay away from underwired for a while too - not to agrivate the scars. Also I don't have to sleep in one anymore either - but still haven't tried that yet! I thought 3 weeks was slightly early for all this fabulous news - I've read a lot on here about 6 weeks post op for all these things, did anyone else get told at this stage?
REALLY pleased with the whole thing, has gone so smoothly *touch wood* and feel so much better for it! to you all who made this process less daunting for me!!

Re: Update on my BA and...is this 'normal'?
Glad to hear all is going well for you.
Dont worry about them dropping and settling differently, that is very normal, as they should both be considered their own seperate surgurey, therefore they will both recover at different rates.
As for the bra situation, I have to agree most of us seem to be told 6 weeks however I have noted a few girls on here who were told not wear one at all... as we say with all things on here do as your ps suggests. I completely understand though that your post op bra is a security blanket, so wear it as long as you wish, I still wear mine at night.
YOu are right in thinking about bra size, a lot of us change size at 6 weeks and again time after that, as they new boobies can take months to completely drop and fluff, I would guess if they are still a bit high up and tight you problably wont find regular bra overly comfortable.

Re: Update on my BA and...is this 'normal'?
All sounds fine hun, my boobs were wonky till 10 weeks post-op before both settling into a nive position.
Like Sarah said, all surgeons will give different advice, this is because it's personal to YOU and YOUR recovery, so it's best not to compare your recovery instructions to that of others. Your surgeon has suggested you can wear some soft bras (non-wired), you can get some pretty ones in M&S - He 'may' have suggested you ditch the sportsbra which supports your breasts to help your boobs to drop, so I'd follow the instructions YOU'VE been given hun, after all you paid for YOUR surgeons advice so it's his and only his advice you should follow hun. xx

Glad everything is going well hun and most of all you're happy. Your boobs will still have lots of changes to go through yet hun, so you're very wise to hold off buying lots of bras.
Take care hun.

Re: Update on my BA and...is this 'normal'?
Aww thank you for all your kind words ladies
Went to try and get a soft bra today but...none in my size - typical ha! I'm still wearing my sports bra but not at the mo - just had a shower and thought I'd let them loose for a bit! haha...it's going back on before bed though. I think I'll just edge myself in to it slowly.
xokerryxo - only 8 days, oooo bet your getting excited now! I'm 5''10 and went from a 34a to a 34d - well that's what I'm wearing at the mo, I said ideally I'd like to be a large c / small d. I am really happy with the size he chose for me! though at first I was like 'wowza' but that was just the itital swelling and they wear pretty round at first. I had 315cc teardrop implants over the muscle too. What have you decided to go for?? *wishing you lots of luck*
sarahdawn31 thanks for the advise - It's nice to know after 5months you still wear yours to bed, I doubt I'll be letting go of mine easily! I think I may buy myself a new bra every 2/3 weeks heehe. When did you get measured hun?
cookie - thanks too, I'll give M & S a try... in need of a nice black one. I will listen to him, after-all he is the one whos seen them and as you said I've paid for him to tell me what to do. You've reassured me about it taking 10 weeks for them to even out too. My left one is being a tad slow *worried* my nipple on my left one is lower and the whole breast just looks more natural but I'm hopeful...it's only been just over 3 weeks!
Thanks Alfie...I'm sooo excited to shop for bras!!!! Can't wait
Sharon - how fab, though not that you're feeling tender still - it'll pass and be sooo worth it! Your bedtime antics will be great too I'm sure! *happy healing hun!*
Love to you all
