I went about 6weeks brough quite a few bras and within a couple on months most of them didn't fit me! When can you wear underwired bras cos as a general rule thats the best time to go. But saying that I wouldn't go mad cos your boobs will change loads over the next few months. x

I spent loads on bras at 6 weeks and wish I hadn't as I only fit in 1 of them now. Most surgeons say at least 6 weeks before you wear an underwire, but they all give different advice, so best to check with your surgeon. I know it's a horrible wait, I was desperate to get measured, but you'll have years of buying gorgeous bras to make up for it!

Have you had the all clear from your surgeon to now wear underwires? If not it's best to wait hunni and even then only buy a couple 'cos as the girls have said, your breasts wil change so much over the next coming months so give them time before slashing out on a boobie shopping trip! xx

Woah am I glad I read this!
Someone ~ahem~ (not saying who) is dying to go bra shopping and had her credit card all polished up for the six-weeks mark. Ha ha.
Anyone not able to find a bra that FITS at all? Everything hurts, even the soft sports ones I bought. The make me feel like my stitches are on fire and send shooting pains through my chest even though they don't really dig my new girls! I have resorted to wearing just the surgical one! Please tell me someone else went through this. Oh and if you are her ~ what did you DO?????

Javajunkie - The shooting pains are just the sensation coming from the nerves healing (it's not pleasant, but it's a good sign!)

If you're would is feeling irritated by the band of your bra, it could mean that you have a little sweeling uder the bust, this is completely normal! I am a 32 band but had to go all the up to a 36 band to accomodate the swelling!

If your band feels fine and not tight but your wound still feels irritated, try using a panty liner to cushion the bra from your wound so its nice and soft against your skin. xx

This is so true i went for my check up yesterday and had fresh dressing, which i have to change every other day, and the nurse gave me what i can only describe as 'old fashoined sanitry towels' lol to put under my banding to cushion and protect my scars healing.

Cookie ~ those shooting pains are a GOOD sign! Oh, thank goodness. Although, it'd be nice if those blasted nerves would tell us they're healing by giving us nice little butterfly tingles in our boobies instead. :) Still it's a relief. And what you are saying about swelling makes sense. I used to be a 32 and have to wear a 34, which is so weird cause my ribacge is 31 inches according to PS. Maybe I need a 36. Swelling must not be all gone!
Did you ever get back to your "real" band size? And Cookie and Sharon, brilliant panty liner advice! I am wearing them to work today. (Which reminds me, I am gonna be late! I think I'm getting hooked on this forum, haha.)
Thanks honeys!!!! congrats
