How do you know it's for the right reasons
I'm sure there is probably a thread on this already but i really can't find it.
How do you know you are having a BA for the right reasons? I'm so worried I'm doing this for some sort of vanity or maybe I'm just paranoid. It's so scary deciding on having it I just want to be sure....
How did you girls know it was the right thing to do?
Help - having doubts already

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Hi hun,
Well i have wanted to have mine done for as long as I can remember. I'm very flat chested and hate it!!! I have never felt comfortable with partners seeing them, hate going swimming, just feel like a little girl!! I am doing this for me and for my confidence. I think it will make me alot happier.
What size are you now? and if you have B/A what size do you want to go to?
Well what is the reason you was thinking about having them done in the 1st place? I think if you want it done for you and you alone, then go for it, if it will make you happy.
Good luck in deciding hun. xxx

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Thank you for replying Kirsty. I am the same I feel like a boy although I have big busted friends who say I can pull off some types of clothes that others can't? I dont see how I just seem to look like I'm wearing a bag, nothing fits on top and I can't wear tight clothes as everyone will see I am just all ribs. I really dont know what size I would like to be, I just want to look feminine. I was hoping a surgeon would say what size I should be by looking at me. Can you pick a size? I've always wanted to just look like a woman with or without clothes on. I dont want too big and I want them to look natural. I dont want to be called boyish anymore.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
I was a 32D before my BA, I had mine done purely for vanity reasons. Doesnt mean you are wrong in wanting it if thats why..Everyone has different motives/reasons for wanting it.
I had what most women would class as big boobs but I have always wanted them bigger. After some weightloss they went different sizes & a bit droppy so I got them done.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
For me it was what I had wanted for a long time. After breastfeeding 5 kids and my boobs getting more and more empty each time I was left with very empty A cups.
I simply didnt feel feminine and finding clothes to fit and look good was a nightmare. I suppose my decision to get implants was based on vanity but also due to that fact that it really got me down and made me feel unsexy.
These reasons were good enough for me to go for it but if your having doubts then wait until your 100% sure.
Dont base your decision on what others might say because close friends and family aren't always supportive...its your decision and choice...x

Thank you so much girls, you are all so helpful. Maybe I'm just trying to justify spending so much money. Plus there is so much to consider, it's so hard to know where to start.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
I would say if you have gone as far as preparing to spend the money ie saving or looking at loan/finance costs, you know for whatever reason you hold in your heart that you want a BA. If you were doing it because someone else wanted you to then I would say thats is for the wrong reason. It's very scary at first and there is a lot of research you need to do and you can ask any question you like on here as the girls are more than happy to help. Have you had any consultations yet or are you still looking around? I can honestly say having a BA was the best thing I've ever done for myself. My advice is take your time do your research and then decide if it's 100% for you.
Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
This was the only thing that concerned me. Am I doing it for the right reasons. Now I am nearly 3 weeks PO I am soo happy and I realise more that I did it for me. I think this is the hardest thing to answer and usually if you are worrying about it, then it is the right thing to do. Because if you were not worrying it would be because someone else was pressurising you to do it, and that would be the wrong reason.
For me I thought how will I feel when I have it done and every time I smiled and felt sooo happy. Thats when I knew I am doing this for me. Plus its a lot of money from my wallet and an operation, no one should do this without really thinking about it first. xx

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Becksxxxx,
Hey I just wanted to let you know that I beyond understand the struggle you are facing right now. I felt the exact same way.
Honestly, I had wierd feelings right up to the time I went in the room. What settled me on going through with things was to trust myself. I had wanted this surgery for at least 12 years. I had to trust that my years of wanting a ba were right so I went a head with it. I'm 5 days BA & I'm sooo happy I did do it. I feel proud that I stuck to my guns and I can already feel a new confidence within me. I am soo excited for them to be healed and sexy. I feel like I have a little secret that no one knows about.
It's a lot of money to spend, yes but really, we spend money on nice cars that depreciate by thousands as we drive off the lot. And then we go and replace them with the same outcome over and over. At least we get to enjoy our girls for years and years.
I wish you all the best with this jouney. We'll all be here helping you along the way.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
This is a great question!!
I know how your feeling, and although I knew I was doing it for me, and to fit clothes better, feel good on the beach, in bed, in strapless dresses etc I still had this thought of 'do I really NEED this?!' once I convinced myself it what I want/need and not for anyone else I started to think what others would think of me...what if they thought I was self obsessed or vain?! I only had these thoughts after my consultation! And I spoke to my OH and he simply said 'Charl, the people that know and care for you will understand the reasons behind you doing it, screw anyone else and let them have opinions if they want' and he's right! Do it completly for yourself!!
This time next month i will have just got home from my BA and be chatting utter rubbish from the GA...and I can't flippin' wait!!!

I was exactly the same after my consult & your man is right. The only people I told are my VIPs & they all supported me. Even my mum who was my biggest worry. I even posted on here to help me face telling her!

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Hi Becks
I have always been flat chested, but I was a perky 32a before I had kids. Then I breastfed my son for 14 months (went up to a 32D), got pregnant 2 months after stopping(went to a 32B), then breastfed (as a 32C) my daughter for 9 months. My boobs never recovered from all those yo-yo sizes. I'm now a saggy 30aa, yuck!
It got to the point where I used to cry about it because I felt so disgustingly hideous without my clothes on. They aren't just small, they're really horrible now. I had no confidence with my OH, I've only taken my daughter swimming twice in her life and I'm literally sick and tired of never, ever having worn a pretty, sexy bra in my ife.
The way I see it, it's my life, I'm nearly 27 and I don't want to spend the rest of my life depressed about it. If it's broke, fix it!
So, 2 weeks ago I booked my BA and here I am with 6 days to go!
If you want to do it, then do it. It might come across as vain, but who gives a flying monkey's?!! There's nothing wrong with changing yourself to look better and feel better, that's why we get our hair done, wear nice clothes rather than sacks and wear make-up.
Good luck and never look back!

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
It's all very scary! I'm always having doubts and mini panic attacks, I'm putting my deposit down tomorrow and I think I'm finally feeling calmer about it.
Every time I'd have a freak out about spending this money and going through the pain and healing of it all, I think about the times that I've been really upset about the way my chest looks.
Once I even had a massive crying fit and threw ALL of my bras in the bin (so stupid - now I only have the ones that were in the wash at the time of my tantrum) haha at least I'll get to buy new ones that fit soon!

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Ive always been flat chest and never felt sexy! I always wanted to feel sexy and fill out my clothes. I think everyone is kind of doing it for vanity reason. THink about I want to look good, and feel good. Yes Im in charge of how I feel but people judge you on how you look. I in a way get mad or it could be jealously when a girl who is a perfect C or D cup wants to me bigger. I wish I was a B or a full C, if I was I prob wouldnt want a BA. lol. But everyone is different and I say go for it no matter what the reason is.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
I think the only right reason is if you're doing it for yourself to make you feel happier - and it doesn't matter what size you are coming from or going to - if it helps you be happier within yourself (and not for another person), then it is the right thing to do.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
I agree with Carol as well. My Mother past away 2 years ago out of now where from a rare blood desease called TTP, I remember when I was around the age 19-20 (Im 23 now) I ask her how she would feel if I got breast implants. She knew I wasnt going to grow any boobs lol, but she said me to "Holly I know how you feel about your breast and Im sorry my genes didnt pass on to you (She was a full D!!! And Im a small A... Lol) So I know how happy you would be with breast so I dont mind at all, I just want to see you happy and I know you will do it for yourself" I knew she was right and Im so gald I had that talk with her cause who know how I would feel getting breast implants and never have talked to her about it

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
I'm sure we've all questioned this at some time but at the end of the day WE have to make that decision....
If the reason your doing it, is for YOUR reasons, whatever they may be, then it's the right decision!!! x

Holly I'm so glad you were able to talk to your mum about your BA. So sorry to hear your mum passed away suddenly like that, it must have been very hard for you. You are right, well all of you are right as long as you are doing it for yourself it's the right reason. Carol I can see what you mean about the forum being addictive, what a wonderful and friendly place.

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Hi Becks
I had mine done because I hated my body, I bathed in the dark and when I had a bit of whoopsie dooo dar (seriously I don't really call it that) with my partner I kept my top on I wouldn't wear nice clothes and always covered up with a jumper. For a long time I felt I had to justify my decision to people as I'm sure they just thought I was vain but I didn't care. Did anyone judge me when I had a brace to fix my teeth? NO, did they judge me each day when I put on makeup? NO, so I realised in the end that if anyone had a negative opinion about my BA they could shove it quite nicely up their jacksy

Re: How do you know it's for the right reasons
Hey hun,
I think if you feel so low about your boobs, like you say you feel like a boy, and want to look like a woman, thats the same as me, so go for it, If it will make you feel happier then why not?
I'm the same as you, I don't want to be too big, but just want a nice full rounded pair! I said to my PS that I want to be a full C. You can tell the PS what size you would like to be and he will see if its doable. Your skin can only stretch so far! But he will tell you what he thinks, just express you don't want to go too big and want to look natural. This is what I said and he recommended between 300-340cc implants. I am having mine done next sunday and I'm happy to show you pics once they are done of my before and after once you become and active member.
I know its alot of money, but if its what you really want and it will make you feel alot happier then its worth it.
Hope this has helped. xxxxx
