Why do the same implants give different sizes...
...on women who have the same stats? It's really confusing and not very useful for someone who is choosing implants sizes!
I was looking at the post op stats and I can't get over how some implants which are smaller, like a 295cc can give a 30e, but equally, someone who is the same body shape and before bra size only gets a 32c... WHY?! Is there something medical?
I'm a 30aa (thought I was a 32 but got measured today!) size 4-6, 5'1, 7.5 stone and I'm going to try to get to a DD cup with 380cc ultra high profiles. Do you think this will take me there? I'm not too sure now! I will be properly devestated if I wake up and the sports bras I've bought for the op (32DD and 30E) don't fit me cos they're too big :-( The PC advised me to get this size but now I think I should pack a 32C just in case :-(
HELP! lol!

Re: Why do the same implants give different sizes...
Hi hun,
I think that it's not just about the cc, but it's also about the height of the implant, the width of the implant and the profile of the implant. It also comes down to how much pre-existing breast tissue you have, and your own shape and size. I might be a 32a, but that doesn't mean that other girls who are 32a have exactly the same shape or size as me. They might be a full A where as I am flatter than them.
There are such a massive amount of variables that it's very difficult to tell what bra size you will end up.
I'm a 32A, and the bra I took to my surgery was a 36DD, just to make sure that there was enough space in it (better too big than too small). Don't forget that you might have swelling around your ribs as well as your boobs. I'd suggest that a C would almost definitely be too small for straight after your op. I don't feel huge at all, but I'm glad my sports bra wasn't any smaller because it felt tight enough!!
I can't see any reason why you wouldn't end up measuring a DD with that size of implant, and I'm sure that your surgeon understands the result you're after!!
Good luck hun!

Well to start off with.. If you're having unders and going to THG you will could be coming out of hospital with just a chest strap on and not need a bra for at least a week anyway! But obviously it depends on surgeon not hospital and I had a diff surgeon to you!
I was 32A to start off with. had 310cc high profile implants. And I took a 36D and 36DD sized bras in with me but she said I dont need to wear them. I have tried my 36 D bra on the as I wanted to kinda see what size I am and I think it's the right cup size but need a 30/32 band size.
If you're unsure about sizes the 'low impact sports bras' at asda are £4. so they dont break the bank and my nurse had a look at them in hospital and she said they are perfectly fine. So if you wanted to buy a couple more diff sizes just buy one of those?

Re: Why do the same implants give different sizes...
it depends on how much breast tissue you have before hand which is a huge factor (breast tissue can be distributed differently even if it seems you have the same stats) and also your band size has a lot to do with the cup size. for ex. if your 34D than your breast size would be the same as someone with 32DD or 30E, as your band size goes down your cup size goes up..does that make sense? and it also depends on the bra company :)

A 32C is the equivalent of a 30D
A 30E is the equivalent to a 32DD
but yes there can be quite a difference even with the same stats
Working on the basis that it's aprox 75cc per cup size for someone who is very slim, 380cc could take you from a 30AA to a 30DD maybe bigger as you get more projection with ultra high profiles. I would think the 32DD post op bra will be fine

Thanks girlies,
You've cheered me up no end! I'm very excited about it all. Just want to know what I'm going to end up like, it's like it's a huge surprise... it's like waiting for Christmas!
It's silly really, why we all get so hung up on bra sizes... really, I should be coaching myself to be able to say, I just want big boobs for my frame. Not REALLY big, but big enough so I don't get boob greed anymore. That way, cup size would be regardless... a C cup could look huge on me. But, it would be so great to be able to say I'm a 30DD, I can't quite let go of that dream yet

Re: Why do the same implants give different sizes...
I agree with all the other girls hun, not only can it be all the variables in implant sizes, makes profile, widths etc. as well as the personal differences such as breast width diameter, chest measurement, breast tissue, skin, but as misf1 said actually that 32C girl with a 295 implant may well fit into a 30E bra too, it depends where girl A and B got measured, what bra they were fitted too etc etc.
Sorry hun but there is no easy answer except to ensure your surgeon knows and understands the look (nott size... LOOK) you are after and then you need to trust him.. Taking pictures of what you are after to your surgeon will help him to understand what you want from your surgery.
good luckhun xxxx

so true hattie..my surgeon refused to tell me what size I would be because it varies so much, and at the time I couldn't really understand it (especially when everyone kept asking me what size I was going to be and I didn't know)..but now I understand.lol!
