implant diameter and space between breast HELP
Hi Girls
Does anyone know how the Surgeon picks the right impant diameter. I looked the ones up he has ordered for me and they are 12cm. high profile. I have almost a 30 inch ribcage with a wide space between my breast now. I am scared of getting torpedo boobs that still have a wide space between breast.
HELP!
This site is wonderful. I wish I had of found it alot sooner. I am learning so much that I did not know. THis is way more complicated than what I thought. I thought you just picked between saline or silicone. then picked round or tear drop shaped and then how big you wanted. Way more than I thought.

Re: implant diameter and space between breast HELP
when you went for your consultation your PS will have measured each of your breasts to determin what your breast width diameter is - he then uses this calculation to see which diameter implant he can use ;-)
Mine is 9.5cm so my PS hasnt got much of a choice & hence ive got even less of a choice but in some ways im happy as i dont know my own mind sometimes & have seen some of the other ladies posts going out there minds as they've got such a choice lol

Re: implant diameter and space between breast HELP
That sounds fine. There needs to be a gap otherwise you can end up with complications, monoboob being one.
Your surgeon does this every day, I'm sure most can tell exactly what implants we need just by eye, the same way hairdressers can tell what hairstyles will suit and what wont (slightly different I know, but it was all I could think of!)
If having a large gap is a worry then let your PS know, he may be able to offer an alternative, however that sounds perfectly fine to me.

You can read and read and read, it's great to be prepared but it can make you worry!
Specify to your surgeon you really dont want a wide gap and he'll ensure you get what you want. But like I said, it sounds fine to me.

I think it's normal to worry, but like Roxychick said, your surgeon is the professional. He does this hundreds of times a year, he knows exactly what size you need for your ribcage.
I was freaking out when I heard my surgeon was giving me extra high profile's... I was thinking I'm going to have torpedo boobs! But when I sat down and thought about it, I have a small ribcage and don't want them underneath my armpits. I figured he's not going to give me weird, narrow boobs for no reason, he's the professional and I have to trust him. I'm just going to state when I see him I want to be able to have cleavage so he needs to bear that in mind!
Don't worry, chick, seriously we can freak ourselves out with too much knowledge xx

You should be able to work out your breast width diameter [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and your implants will probably be the same or a bit wider. It's good to have a bit of a gap.
