Scaring: Mixed ethnic background
Hi,
i'm trying to say everything pc.
I'm mixed race (black/white) and was wondering if there are some other mixed ladies out there that can tell me about their experience with the scaring.
I've read that the scars can turn out quite dark and thick.
anybody some tips on how to prevent that or on products to use after the BA to help the healing?

I'm not mixed race sweetheart, but I do understand your concern about keloid scarring. I used Tanamu cream on my scars afterwards as this product was recommended by THG who I went with for my operation. It certainly seems to have helped my scars - one was not too bad but my lefty was worse as it was ropey and lumpy immediately after the op. When I was given the go ahead to start using the cream at my 4 week post-op checkup, I started to see an improvement in the look and feel of the scar - now it is just a slight pink line and doesn't feel lumpy at all.
You can purchase the product from here (although I would question their assertion that it smells great LOL - but it doesn't smell obnoxious though, just I wouldn't wear it as a perfume).

Hi, Im mixed race and had my BA in oct, i used boots scar serum twice a day and my scars are nice and flat, also they have faded loads. I saw my surgeon a few days ago for a routine post op check and he says he expects them to fade some more, if they do, mine will be barely visable. Hope this helps. xx
