Will I be ok?!
Booked in for my BA next Friday 25th and I have an appointment in London on 1st March (4 days later). Getting there would involve getting a train and possibly a tube. I am having overs.
I know everyone heals differently but how did everyone feel a few days after their op? Would you hav felt up to travelling on public transport?
I think I will have to play it by ear and see how I am on the day maybe...

I would avoid anywhere crowded (like the tube) as it wouldn't be very helpful if you were jostled. Is there any way you can reschedule??
To be honest, i think just the journey would be too tiring for you and if you had to do something important at the meeting.

Re: Will I be ok?!
I'm having overs and according to my PS, I have to stay home and relax for the first week. From the second week I'm allowed to start gentle walking again. You'll probably be pretty sore and might still be on heavy meds. Also the blues can hit around day 3 or 4. Personally I'd reschedule. Take it easy- relax and spoil yourself.

Re: Will I be ok?!
I have to say I felt rubbish on day 4, no pain but I was still walking around like a hunch back, I was tired and felt miserable (booby blues) I would not have wanted to catch a train and the tube would have terrified me. Can you get a lift maybe?
Re: Will I be ok?!
I agree, train sounds manageable, but the tube can be crazy at busy times, and it flings you about like anything, so if you don't manage to get a seat you'd be stood up having to hold a head rail above your head... ouch!! Maybe get the train and then a taxi instead?
It's a nightmare isn't it. I've promised a friend I'll take lecture notes for them while they're away as a thanks for a favour they did, and as it happens they're going to be away four days after my op so I have to go in to uni and sit in lectures. I'm really hoping that I'll have enough meds and enough mobility to do it. Otherwise I'm in trouble.
Saying that, you're having overs so you might feel better very quickly. HoojieHayley just had her BA in January, and she was up and about practically the next day with not a bruise on her I think!! Check her posts. It's down to the individual but you might be lucky!!
Good luck hun!!

I would have found that really hard at day 4 but everyone is different. Can you re-schedule? Or avoid the tube at least?

A car should be fine, take a pillow for the seat belt just incase it rubs a little.

Re: Will I be ok?!
Being honest, I felt like crap on day 4. I booked a week off work and ended up taking two weeks off (my journey involved train and tube and there was no way I was having ANYONE get near my boobs)
I also had a long car journey to make a week after and cancelled. The GA affected me more than I thought it would too, so just generally felt like crap.
Sorry to be negative, I'd love to say you'll be fine, but really, I'd see if there was any way to cancel. You don't want to comromise your health/boobs for something that could possibly be postponed.

Hi, I have the same worries as for my week check up I have to go to London, and easiest way to get there will be tube, but I'm worried it will be crowded and don't know how I will be feeling.
Good Luck hun. xxxxxx

Re: Will I be ok?!
I think day 3/4 was probably the worst for me too, although I did have to travel on day 4, thankfully in the back of our gig van but I was surrounded by pillows and cushions AND a quilt.... :console: but It was ok. Everyone is different babes, but I would certainly try to avoid the hustle bustle of the tube!!! x

Re: Will I be ok?!
Thanks girls! I am just going to see how I feel. My friend has offered to drive me if I feel better so I'll see how I am on the day.
I had my pre op today and I have to say I wasnt all that impressed. She couldnt booked me in for my first check up until 8th March which is 11 days after my op. I thought this appointment was meant to be at 7 days? I am definatley going to have to get a tube on that day... So long!!
