Re: Nerves and Excitement
Hi Emma,
It's quite normal to be nervous, I couldn't sleep for days because of the excitement immediately before I had my operation and I think it is something that every single one of us experiences.
Have you read through the various topics covered in the 'Where Do I Begin' articles (in the pink area on the right hand side of the page).
xx

Re: Nerves and Excitement
Practise doing sit ups in bed because using your arms to push yourself up or shuffle up the bed is uncomfortable for the first few days - because of this I took a small bottle of water (with sports lid) to bed with me for the first week as it was easier to drink lying down than try to sit up!
Also reorganise your kitchen cupboards so you can reach things without stretching up above your head and buy some button up tops/blouses and PJ's for the same reason.
You may also want to stock up the freezer with ready meals or do some batch cooking just to make your life easier in the first week.
The 24th will soon be here - it is normal to be excited but nervous too, try to relax and enjoy your BA day xx

The roller coaster of emotions leading up to the big day can be overwhelming... try to relax and enjoy because now looking back on it, it was a very exciting time. xx

Re: Nerves and Excitement
Good question. I'm going through this right now too.
Stay busy so time will fly faster.
Stock up on books and movies for after the op.
Take some pre-op photos- topless and also clothed.
Practice sleeping on your back with two pillows.
Exciting! Not long now.
