Pre-Op Today!!
Hi ladies!! :)
I had my pre-op today. I have to tell you I am super excited and REALLY scared now! LOL the nurse was going over everything like how I have to be in bed for 3 days!! Then she was telling me to have my boyfriend set his alarm and wake me up every 3.5 hours to give me my medications. (pain, anti-nausea, etc.) I am starting to get really nervous b/c in my head I guess I just didn't think this was going to be a HUGE procedure. Maybe I am just being nieve b/c honestly I have never had a surgery and have never had anesthesia- so I just had in my brain that I would be uncomfortable- but the way she was talking this is going to be horrible!! :( hmph, am I being a baby? other than that they did the norm, drew blood went over history etc.
I have decided to go with Allergan Moderate Profile 450-490 cc's. They looked great when I was trying on the implants with that horrible looking bra :) just hoping they look great when they are real.
Sorry to vent ladies,I just needed someone to talk to.

You're going to be fine hunni, I think your nurse is being over cautious. It is an operation but not one that confines you to bed. You just need to be careful not to do too much, take things easy. Keeping up with the pain meds is a good idea for the first few days, but I personally don't think you need to be woke up to take them.
I'm sure you're going to look fab hunni.

Re: Pre-Op Today!!
I agree with Alfie! Your nurse has just been in panic mode making sure she reads everything from the little black book! It's nothing to be worried about honestly! I wouldn't have done it twice otherwise!!! The only advice I have is keep on top of your pain meeds for a couple of days even if you feel like you don't need them!
I was hovering and mopping on day 3!!! Most Of the girls on here will say the same you are not confined to your bed only if you want to be!!!
You will be fine chicks and there lovely big implants! Bet you can't wait to have them! X x x

Re: Pre-Op Today!!
You must be so excited with only a week to go!! Like the girls said, the nurse is just following procedure and making sure she imparts all the necessary information!
I'm sure you will fly through and be absolutely fine!!
Best of luck hun, and let us know how you get on!!

Re: Pre-Op Today!!
I would agree with the other girls Leslie, she was being ultra cautious. I didn't even take any pain meds LOL - never mind wake up every 3½ hours to take them. I was in bed (in the hospital) for the first day, but was at home (albeit resting and not doing too much) in the lounge after that.
The GA itself is rather pleasant actually (or at least I found it so) - but I did follow more than the preop instructions - like I didn't have anything to eat from 6 pm the evening before and only sips of water from then until around 3 am in the morning. I don't know if it was because of this, but I didn't feel nauseous at all after the operation - but I was ravenously hungry and thirsty, not surprisingly.
You might also consider taking Arnica tablets - these were recommended by the clinic I had my op done by and I suffered very minor bruising (I normally bruise very easily and it will stay black-blue for over a week), with the Arnica, it was a pale golden yellow which disappeared after just a couple of days. There is also a thread about other girls' experiences with Arnica [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

I agree with the girls hunnie, she was being a tad over cautious!!!! I think she has made you feel a little more anxious than you need to be, the GA for me was also quite a nice experience (believe or not) and the whole day was nothing like as stressfull as I imagined.
Personally the worst thing for me was the starvation period and not having a ciggie for 24 hours.....
