Boob Jab 2011
Hi
I have just joined the site as I was about to book my boob jab (macrlone injection) at a clinic in London. I have had the initial consulation and they said I was perfect as I wanted to put some fullness back into my boobs after having my daughter 3 yrs ago and breastfeeding for 5months. Now I've finally found the time AND money to do this, they quoted me £3,000 then approx £500 top up yearly, I didn't think the top up was too bad as I really didn't want the full boob op which is why I was going for the injections.
Now I'm having second thoughts after finding this website and forum and I wondered if anyone had had it and was still happy with it, also grimsylass was the last post on macolane jabs and I wondered what you had done as your post was nearly a year ago.
Anybody else had the boob jab done who has been happy with it?
Thing is I am only 32B and only wanted to go 32C, which is why I was considering the injection..
Any feedback would be great.
Thanks..xx :dunno:

Interesting thread hun!! I have no idea about it though I'm afraid. I'd be interested to hear what our resident surgeons think about it though... maybe you could ask one of them too??
Hope you get some answers!!

Re: Boob Jab 2011
ive read a bit about it on this and other forums and tbh, it hasnt got very good reviews.
Apparently it can go very lumpy and give a kind of bnch of grapes feeling under the skin.
It also generally needs topping up much more often than they will tell you. Roughly every 7 or 8 mths.
Its a very expensive procedure for something very short lived, and id research it a lot more if i were you.

James McDiarmid (one of our resident plastic surgeons) doesn't regard this technique at all highly, he commented on it on this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
If you require any further information, it might be best to ask James' advice hunnie

PS
If you are considering spending £3000 + £500 pa top ups, it will work out far cheaper to have a proper implant procedure done, at least they are permanent and the technique is tried and tested.
Is there any reason why you would prefer not to have implants, eg fear of a general anaesthetic or fear of the surgery itself??

Re: Boob Jab 2011
Hello there!!
I saw a really nasty thing about macrolane hun. I was researching surgeons when I found it on Dr Mounir's website. The video is on this page - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Basically the woman has had macrolane and it has gone lumpy and uneven (which is apparently a common side effect, and apparently macrolane isnt even liscenced for use in breasts) so he has to remove the macrolane and put implants in.
If, god forbid, that did happen, you would not only go through the hassle and pain of 2 ops, but also you would be spending double the money!!! Plus you would be paying £500 per year to keep it topped up!!! I am still in the researching phase but I am looking at going with Rubicon Medical who have quoted me £3195 all inclusive for a BA. It may be worth considering them if money is your problem. Also Mr Frati is lovely!! Met with him yesterday!

Re: Boob Jab 2011
Hi everyone
thanks for all your replies they have really helped and have given me alot of food for thought. I don't think I will go down the injection route.
The reason i wanted the injection was i'm only a size 6 so don't want bigger boobs just wanted fullness and shape back to them.
I never relieased you could get small implants so I will start looking into that.
Thanks again for your all replies.

Re: Boob Jab 2011
yeah ive heard of people getting as little as 160ml which would be roughly the same as wearing those chicken fillet things in your bra, although most people go for slightly bigger

Re: Boob Jab 2011
At that price and the need for regular top ups, and hearing James' opinion of them, I'd save your money for a BA.

Re: Boob Jab 2011
Hi, I spent many years thinking about having a BA. I was also looking into the Macrolane procedure. For some reason, I preferred the idea of having the injection as opposed to having implants in my body. I also read about the lumpiness and stories of people who after 7 months, felt that they had returned to their pre-injection size. I eventually decided to go for a BA on the 4th January 2011. I went with relatively small sized implants 230cc but there are smaller sizes than this. I believe that the 230cc will result in an increase of around 1 cup size(I need to wait till 6 weeks post op for proper measurements). I was a small B and am now filling a 34C sports bra at 2 weeks post op. I paid £3500 with Transform. There is a clinic in London. I could not fault the surgeon or the pre and post operative care xxx

I used to be obsessed with the idea of this jab but I'd hate to keep having top-ups all the time, plus, you'd have to keep finding the money all the time.

But I suppose it is less scary and permament than BA, which is why I also liked the idea in the first place..

Hhhmmm... I don't know really... Personally I think I'd find it more scary having an unproven substance directly injected into my body/bloodstream... I'd be worried and wondering where Macrolane actually ends up migrating to etc.etc. I know where my implants are and regarding permanence they can always be removed. I also know that they have been rigorously tested over many, many years. I appreciate that whatever option is taken there is always a possible risk. For me, all in all and especially value for money-wise, the implants win! :good:
