Better to have strong pecs??
Hi girls
At just 2 weeks to go, I'm wondering if I should do some more push ups to strengthen my pecs - I used to do them & haven't for a while, so could easily start again, but not sure is this is better or worse - I'm having unders. Thanks for any advice xx

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Apparently if you are very physical unders are worse as your strong pectoral muscles will compress the implant when worked. Some women have reported to be able to feel the implant under their muscles, if they're particularly physical. Like women body builders, for example. It's advised that they have overs so that the strong muscles don't interfere with the implant. That's what I've read.

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
no, you should avoid exercising your pecs.
If you do a lot of upper body work, it might be worth talking to your PS about having overs, because if your pecs are too built up, it doesnt always give a good effect with unders

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Hi I have also heard that tight pecs can keep your implant sitting high ,as they need to be looser to let it drop into a more natural position. Anyway you will do longer need pec`s you will have BOOBIES !

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Not liking this. It is not looking good for me! I didnt have enough breast tissue to go over and have really strong/thick pec muscles. My implants are very high and i am desperately hoping they will drop, but realise I might have to be more patient than most, which I dont mind as long as it happens. But my job is physical so I will only get away with light duties for so long and then the muscles will start toning again. Has anyone had a prob with this????

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Hi lilibet - you are prob better off toning your stomach muscles - I found i couldn't use my arms (felt like i had done 1000 press ups) to push me up or down bed to get comfy of push up from sofa, but luckily had been going to core stability exercise class which focuses on stomach muscles - I found i could sit up in bed by basically doing a "sit up" and similar with getting up from chair - need to engage stomach and pelvic floor muscles.
2 weeks to go - how exciting!!!

I would suggest not trying to stregthen them. It can cause more discomfort in your recovery. Just relax dont panic and enjoy your BA day.
Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Thanks for the advice girls - I guess I won't start those push ups again! I only used to do them at home from time to time so no problem with having unders. Great idea to concentrate on stomach muscles though jellitot - thanks

Re: Better to have strong pecs??
Hi lillibet, I have always worked my pecs prior to original op
4 years ago. Had re op on 20 th December surgeon said first
surgeon didn't release muscle properly first time so that's why
been havin pain for 4 years. Also first surgeon never advised
me to not do chest work after op so again I worked my pecs.
I too like u have little breast tissue so couldn't have overs, won't
lie to you, you can feel the muscle grip the imlant and all I can
advise is make sure you listen to your body, keep everything
within arms reach and don't do too much.
Good luck with the op and let me know how u get on x
