REALLY fed up with this bit!!
I know I'm going to sound ungrateful here but --
it's three weeks after my op and i'm totally fed up of waking up with sore swollen boobs and walking around all day wincing if they so much as rub the inside of my (horrible) bra, and trying to dodge cuddles from my kids who have bashed them countless times. Plus one side is STILL bigger than the other.
not only am i beginning to feel a bit depressed but also to be honest i'm bored by the amount of time they are taking up these days!! i just want them to be fixed and in a nice bra and not sore so i can FORGET about them for a bit.
did anyone else go through this? sorry for the moan.

A lot of us go through this Ava
Things do get better hunni, you have a 6 week recovery period, that's not to say you're going to take 6 weeks to feel better, but it can take up to that long for things to settle down and all you can do is be patient lovely.
We all understand though hun, so rant away anytime you need to. xxx

Thank you Cookie -- again. You're always so supportive and helpful. I'm not very patient at the best of times but this whole process is really starting to get to me. Which is really stupid of course because it was entirely self-inflicted!!

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
It's not at all stupid to feel a little sorry for yourself Ava, sure you chose to have the surgery but it doesn't make how you feel any better
For your sensitive nipples, have you tried using make-up pads inside your bra? the softness of the cotton pad just helps a little from the rubbing on the bra. I suffered this too and it's horrible hun.
For your morning boob, have you tried using icepacks to help reduce your swelling? I used these specifically in the mornings as this was my worst time and the ice packs helped lots. With morning boob, you just kinda wake up one day and realise it's no longer there and then you think, well when did it stop?! LOL it goes without you even realising it hunni... and the next three weeks till you're in pretty bras and getting back to normality will be here before you know it lovely - you'll see

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Hi Ava,
I dont have any helpful advice like cookie but I have lots of sympathy! Im just less than two weeks in and have definitely had moments of thinking - why was I so selfish to do this!
Like you its mostly because of the kids. My 3yr old keeps saying to anyone that will listen - careful mummy has sore boobies! Bless she must have heard that 100 times! Although my youngest doesnt understand and does get upset about not being picked up.
But I felt great about the new boobs last night! I tried some tops on and showed my hubby and was really pleased! He had to help me get them on and off cos I still can't move my arms properly, but it gave me a boost. Maybe try it and you'll be reminded of all the good times to come.
Hope this stage doesnt last long for either of us. I've never wanted to be able to the housework again so much!

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Yes, I would agree with that Jem. When I was getting ready for bed last night, I opened my bra drawer and got one of my old bras out (yes the small cup ones which I never really filled anyway) and put one on for a giggle and I laughed at loud in delight as the new boobies simply swamped them. OMG that was a lovely realisation

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Hi Ava,
Cookies right, I am 6 weeks post op and used to have terrible morning boobs but 4 days ago i woke up, got out of bed and NO morning boobs, thought it was a one off but haven't had morning boobs since, also the cheese grated nipple feeling has gone. At 6 weeks I am really enjoying my boobs as all the discomfort has gone and they are beginning to feel like they are mine, they even bounce a little when I walk. Best of all, if you read my earlier post I had a left boob higher and fuller than my right which i stressed about constantly but over the last week they have evened up and are the same height and
size. I know all the discomfort is annoying and gets you down but give it time and patience and your boobs will settle down, a few more weeks and everything will feel better,

The morning boob does wear off hun, but it's horrible at the time. I had very sensitive nipples and used to put cotton pads down my bra to help with it.

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
thank you! the cotton pad tip is a great one.
i think the cold makes them worse too. i'm addicted to warm baths in bio oil these days, that seems to really help. so far i'm averaging two a day and considering taking my laptop in there next!

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Okay - I know this might sound thick, but what is 'morning boob'??? As I'm going to have my BA on 22nd Dec I want to make sure I have everything I need in stock before the shops all shut and I can't drive to get any 'supplies'!
From what you've been saying, it sounds like cold might help? If that's the case, I remember from when I had my children that you can get these 'cool pads' that you put in the freezer (like water filled boob shaped pads) that you put down your bra to ease the pain of hard boobs when you're breast feeding! I'm wondering if this might help? Or maybe the 'breast pads' you can get to absorb milk leakage (the advantage over makeup pads is that they're larger and have a 'dent' in them where your nipple goes!
Just some ideas that might help!

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Jellytot, where do I get the cool pads? Ice packs is my biggest question at the moment, as in what type? where from?
Oh and any advice on the most comfortable?

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
Try Mothercare for the cool pads (I seem to remember they had them!) If not, you could try Googling 'breastfeeding cool pads'? Sorry I can't be more help (it was 5 years ago I was breastfeeding! Lol)

Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
A bag of frozen peas or rice act as a perfect ice pack and they can mould around your boobs too, so if you don't buy an ice pack these are just as good. xx
Re: REALLY fed up with this bit!!
I had my op in octobe last year hun & when i stepped out into the cold my boobs were the 1st to feel it...............it was almost like they shriveled up & went hard! its felt horrible but this year the cold has no effect on them so im happy about that!
I felt ruff for the 1st 2-3 weeks hun & even got to the point where i was really low & thinking why the hell did i do this?! but once you over the op you then get the ' why on earth did i even feel like i didnt want this?!' I think it a emotional rollercoaster hun & i totally dont blame you for how you feel cause we have all been there.......
well apart for the amazing girls who have there op's then go clothes shopping 2 days later!! Have no idea how they do it!!
Youll feel better about it once you body starts to recover & your boobs settle
