first aid course after BA? Empty first aid course after BA?

Post by jellytot1 10th December 2010, 10:38 am

Hi Ladies

I am having my BA on 21st Dec (under the muscle) and have just had an e-mail about a first aid course which I need to do before May when my certificate runs out. The course is over 2 saturdays 15 & 22 January which will only be 3 1/2 weeks after my op - will I be up to lying on floor in recovery position, rolling others into recovery and doing chest compressions on the dummy? These courses don't come up very often and this one is in the town I live in - had to travel 20 miles to last one.

I will have hopefully been back to work for a week by then. Is there anyone who is 3 1/2 weeks post op who could tell me what they are capable of doing now?

Hi girls at around 2/3 weeks i felt fine but then again i still wasn't doing anything strenuous i would phone your clinic and speak to the nurse or your surgeon just ask there advice and go with what they say .. Just to be sure as you dont want to be over doing so soon after your op .. wavey

Hi jellytot1, if it is just for u to renew your certificate
I would speak to the company and explain the situation.
I renewed mine and I'm sure if you explain they will
let u count the compressions without actually doing
them. Also with the recovery position if you've explained
they can tell you to tap the area to move if u explain
where it needs to go. Just be honest with them u
should be ok. I too am having my op on the 21 st December
