Cancelled BA's
Has anyone had their BA's cancelled due to the poor weather? Are you been given priority bookings?
Also I'm sorry if any ladies have had their BA's cancelled, it must stink!

Re: Cancelled BA's
Mine is next Tuesday - and with them sending a car from Bromsgrove to Torquay, I am getting a bit jittery about the possibility of a cancellation. Fortunately it is mainly motorway and dual carriageway with just a bit at both ends on ordinary roads - so hopefully these will be kept clear - and the weather is said to get just a little bit warmer for next week. I don't think I could bear a cancellation after all the nerves/excitement etc building myself up for 5 days time

Re: Cancelled BA's
I have also been worried but as my op is on the 14th I should be fine....I hope!!
Hope everyone is fine - hopefully the heavy snow has eased off and the roads will be cleared etc. I am in London so it's not been bad at all but I know other areas have been hit bad :/

My pc is just gone on holiday and isn't back with her. More snow due between now and Sunday! Guess I'll check with the clinic. Fingers crossed it will get better and they clear the roads.

Bloody hell Georgie looks like your keeping the Yorkshire folk warm going out like that x
I feel for all of you waiting for the snow to melt or at least clear roads. I hope that you can all find wasys and means of transport to get you and your surgeons to the hospitals x

Re: Cancelled BA's
God if I have mine cancelled I just don't know when I could fit in and plan to have them done again. Am dreading catching a cold from the children I childmind as if I get a cold it generally turns into a nasty cough that lasts a month and I generally go down with it in December - am dosing myself up with vitamin C at moment - can I carry on taking it closer to my BA in 3 weeks?

Lots of us come down with colds pre op, me included. I worried so much that my op was going to be cancelled but it's only really a problem if you have an infection. I still had a cough on my op day but anaesthetist was fine with that. As long as they can clear your airway it's fine. I was told to take vit c by nurse for 2 weeks pre op to help with healing. Ask your clinic their views.
Chicksville - lol. Typical man.

Re: Cancelled BA's
I had my BA on Tuesday and I was really worried about the weather. The hospital said that they often rearrange general appointments but do their absolute best to carry on with the surgeries booked. My PS stayed in a hotel down the road from the hospital to make sure he could get in! I was so grateful cos what a nightmare if you have to rearrange. I have 2 kids too and hubby booked time off work to look after them and my mum booked time off to look after me!
I am currently happily snowed in at my mums taking it easy, while getting updates from my hubby about snowball fights and him and the kids putting the xmas decorations up!
I really hope no one gets cancelled. Maybe call the hospital, cos they really reassured me when I was worried.
