Hello ladies,
I,m 8 months post op.
I,m a bit worried as I ve been unwell now for almost 2 weeks and been on antibiotics for 1 week. its not a chest infection as i had chest x ray done but could be suggested plurasy or upper respiratory infection. last week i had terrible pain accross my right breastbone like a pulling feeling and lower back right side.

i ve seen dr 3 times and went to see surgeon last fri as i am so paranoid something wrong because i ve been feeling all rubbing/wheezy and hearing gurgling squeaking from right side for past few months...rubbing only last week.
since on antibiotics i have improved as i was in bed all last week .

Surgeon examined me and said everything looked and felt normal but did suggest CC but thinks not and if still worried to go back in 2 months she also said implants would,nt cause me to be unwell but she did say that if you have any infections in the first year to get anti biotics as the infection can get into your bloodstream and into the implants . but she said to stop worrying as that is unlikely and i ve probably overdone the muscles from coughing or slept awkward i ve also been over inhaling as i ve been trying to show people my squeaky weird boob !!!! my right boob has never felt the same as left .

the reason why i m still worrying is that i still don,t feel 100% i m still congested and just feel rough and i still feel slightly burny feeling accross breastbone. i ,m not taking painkillers anymore though because i m not in any pain. but i am just thinking that as soon as i stop taking antibiotics i m going to get ill again.I just want to know is this just normal and i d be ill like this whether i,d had op or not because i ve never been this unwell for a long time even when its the worst time of year for coughs colds etc.

Implants will not increase the chance of you getting ill hun & wouldnt cause you to have fluid on the lungs or a chest infection.........unfortunalty how you are feeling is totallly how id exspect you to feel with a rotten chest infection & you have infact got the same as me!

I have been ill with it since saturday.......Im on steriods, nebulisers as i cant breath ( but i have really bad asthma) got the antibiotics today, but they can sometime take two weeks to work & after 5 days if you dont improve they should double the strength.

The reason its coming back hun is because the antibiotics are not totally getting rid of the infection..........& honestly hun its not you op thats made you feel this ruff its the bug& infection.......I have only been this bad 4 times in my life where i have just felt so ruff & like someone is sitting on my chest & all the wheezing ect.......3 times before my op and once after which is now.

I have also had mild chest infections in the past to but there is alot of nasty bugs going around & my dad & two older children had the bug i have now badly but they got over it fine! Its just one of them things & its really not B.A related.

As for CC I have heard that your chances of getting it increases if you get any kind off infection e.g dental, chest ect but again I have had this one, a mild one just after my op & a tooth infection & my boobs seem fine!

shrug

its not he op babe it was 8 months ago , youd fell like this even if you had not had your op............

You can however pick up infections easier staight after you op as the G.A reduces the effect of you immune system hence the rason they wont opperate if you have a temp ect as it could cause the infection to get worse.

I hate winter its not a good time of year for me or my 2 year old!

Hope you feel better soon Hun x

'its not a chest infection as i had chest x ray done but could be suggested plurasy or upper respiratory infection. '

Upper respiratory infection is still a chest infection hun but its the upper parts of the lungs & windpipe.........the lower part of the chest is normally more seriouse e.g phnomonia ( cant spell it lol)

Plurasy is also a nore seriouse one but if they though it could have been that it would have shown up on the chest x-ray?

Both types will make you wheeze & feel like crap Hun x

Thanks Crystal, really appreciate your reply. I have,nt been on here a while as I got a bit better and finally stopped panicking, but today i feel rough again headache , full up with cold. I work in a school its my first year and perhaps i,m picking up everything from the children. I have 3 of my own aswell . just hope don,t get worse again but i was,nt anywhere near as bad as you sound love you. You must really suffer if you asthmatic aswell. I hope you are getting better.
The thing that was bugging me was all this rubbing sort of sounds. That seems to have gone but I do feel and hear the odd thing from my implants, apperantly it has been known you can hear them rub on your ribcage. I wonder if anyone has this phenomenom!! You definately have made me feel a lot better though, Thanks crystal , take it easy and i,m sure i, ll be on here again with other worries !! xxx

Hay Hun, I afraid i personally have not had any noises or rubbing of my implants other then in the 1st few weeks but that all settled...........as you have said that you have read up on it then im sure its normal but if your still worried just give you clinic a call hun as you are only 8 moths post-op so they will give you any helpful advise or if they may even offer you a check-up to make sure things are all ok.

Your 1st year working in a school hun is probably the main reason why your picking up all the colds ect...........I have 4 kiddies & my 2 year old has IGA deficancy ( cant spell it!) & spent 3 months in & out of hospital with chest infection & phnemonia & on top of that sever asthma. She now live on strong antibiotics that she takes 3 days a week but they warned me that her starting nursury in Jan she will pick up all kinds of stuff & that normal kids do but its worse for her as she has not got the immune system to fight it off.

They said having older kids dosnt help as they to bring stuff back but its no where near as bad as actually going to a nursury or school everyday as there is so much more there to pick -up

For you thou youll have a ruff year while your immune system builds up then youll find youll pick up alot less bugs but unfortunatly thats not the case for my daughter shrug
