Just heard about PIP How do I know if I have them?
Hi girlys I'm new to the forum (like 30mins) I was just looking through the forums when I came accross the PIP info. I have never heard of it, honestly I must have been on another planet the past few months or however long it's been going on!
Anyway I had my BA in 2006 with Transform. I'm really worried incase I have PIP implants. How do I know, or find out? I still have the info they gave me on the way out (somewhere!) with the stickers on with the sizes of the implants etc will that tell me?
Thanks for any advice

Hi hun, the info they gave you should include an impland id card and that will tell you which implants you have. Transform did use PIP's then switched to another type but I can't remember when that was.
If you do have PIP's the next thing you need to do is try and get an ultrasound to check for rupture as scans/MRI's is the only way to know. It's not possible to tell just by looking or feeling your breasts.
Once you've done that you then need to decide what you want to do regarding keeping them or exchanging them. The advice is that they're better out than in hun.
Some of us are taking legal action, others have decided not to.
It's a right pickle we find ourselves in but you've come to the right place for help and support xx

Re: Just heard about PIP How do I know if I have them?
Hi I have just found the info they gave me and have got a yellow record of prosthesis in front of me. It has 2 stickers on, one for each implant and they say MHP does this mean they are not PIPs??
Thanks so much for your reply

Just looked at my stuff and the PIP id card is blue and does say PIP on it. Do you have anything else that might say what implants you have? Consent form etc?
LOT is probably a lot or batch number.

The size and MHP does sound like you have Allergan CUIs babe, which is what Transform use. But as you're unsure you should call your clinic and check hunni. xx
Re: Just heard about PIP How do I know if I have them?
No I can't find anything apart from the yellow sheet and all the brochures/leaflets etc.
Is the PIP ID card the same as the stickers I mentioned on the yellow form?
Just realised it was 2007 I had them not 2006 duh! lol.
Thing is I've been thinking about having new implants because one is bigger than the other now, but I thought it was just down to having my baby 2 years ago? I have had aches and pains in one breast quite a lot and (not sure if this is anything to do with it) shooting pains in my shoulder and top of arm. Especially when in the car, just thought my bf must have given me a bit of whiplash at some point haha.

It does sound like you have CUIs hun. I have those too but haven't got my info to hand. I do know that all you get is the dcharge papers though with the implant stickers as you described just stuck on it. Call the clinic to confirm babe but I don't think you have anything to worry about. xxx
