Makeup on the day
This is gonna sound like a very vein question but the thought of travelling to the surgery and speaking to my ps before my op without my makeup on is not a good one. He probs wont even recognise me without it, I know that sounds ridiculus but I am soooo used to wearing my makeup every single day that I really dont fancy the idea of going anywhere without it. It will be totally out of my comfort zone. (How pathetic am I??)
If i turn up with a little mascara on will i be asked to remove it there n then?? That would be embarrassing!! Theres been nothing said about not wearing makeup when i turn up?? Also nailvarnish, does this have to be removed from hands and feet??? As someone told me you have to remove it as they look for the colour in your fingertips when your under the ga???xxxxx

Re: Makeup on the day
I know exactly what you mean about wearing make up hun... Luckily my admission time was at the crack of dawn, so I didnt bother putting any on..
Yeah you will be able to wear mascara hun, aslong as you take it off before the op..
Yes you have to remove all nail varnish and fake nails as they use the colour of your fingertips to monitor you whilst under General Anaesthetic..
Hope this helps xx

Re: Makeup on the day
Hiya, i was the same as you. I NEVER leave the house without make up!! sad i know but true. I just put on the bare essentials on the day of my op even though i left the house at 5.30am i wasnt taking no chances!! and i didnt want to look rough going into a posh private hospital!! lol
I just had on a little concealer, foundation and mascara.
To be honest i forgot i had any on and the nurses didnt notice so i ended up going to theatre with it on!! ooooops.
Just make sure you take some make-up wipes to easily remove it before you go down. And yes, you need to remove nail polish too xx

Your not allowed nail varnish on hands or feet.. or no makeup on the day. I travelled to hosp without makeup, sat in the waiting room with everyone else wearing no makeup and their partners/family and saw my ps, nurse, etc. I didnt give a damn lol and you wont either x

Re: Makeup on the day

Oooh we are all really close, i have major butterflies now! Just enjoying my last drink of the week, a lovely homemade sangria, my favorite mmmm x Are any of you girls anxious about size? I have a horrible feeling I have gone too small arrgh. I might phone him tomorrow and ask him to bring the sizers to surgery with him for me to try again (are you aloud to do that you think?)

Hey Hunni
I did wear a little bit of mascara - and thought I would take it off if I needed to. They didn't say anything, so it stayed on!!
Good Luck for you BA!!

Re: Makeup on the day
Come round i have a whole jug lol! I can basically only have an implant that is 12cm in width, so i can either go for the 345cc mhp or the 410cc hp, i went with the 345, but am now thinking sod it may as well go for it lol. I am really scared of being stared at tho and not being able to buy all of the lovely size ten dresses that I have been dying to wear for the last 15 years cos they are now too small on the boobies. What are your stats babe and what and who are you having?

Re: Makeup on the day
I shave my eyebrows and draw them on, and I was sooo worried about having to go looking like Marilyn Manson or something! :pale:
When I got my confirmation email I asked if I could keep them and they said it would be ok...I also had a little bit of mascara on (bare minimum)...there was others in the waiting room with make-up on, but I'm not sure if they took it off when they got into their rooms.
