STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
Hi girls, had my ba 12 days ago now.Had alot of pain for first week but thankfully that has gradually faded.I still have really hot tender boobs that feel like they weigh a ton and can't really straighten up comfortably(my back).
I seem to have alot of discomfort around the top of my stomach area under my boobies is this all normall? Also have not slept a whole night since having the op that's how much discomfort i've had !!!

Re: STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
Hey Daisy {{BIG HUGS}} there isn't a lot I can say as I am only 8 days post op myself but I just wanted to say I haven't slept a whole night either, I wake up all the time :tears:
I am finding I am recovering quicker this time around but my boobs are still sore especially across the top (the breast bone). I can't remember whole heartedly how long it took to recover from my first BA BUT I do recall it was a lot more painfull and I am certain I wasn't doing as much a week post op as I am this time around so the fact you are still sore sounds completely normal to me.
The only 'slight' concern about what you say is you have mentioned your boobs feel hot....actually hot to touch?? like they are burning?? or they feel hot inside? (nerves rejoining can feel like this) have you phoned your nurse at all? she'll be the best person to advise about this and she should be available 24Hrs!! x x x

Re: STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
Its normal to have pain and discomfort in the places you say you do hunni and 12 days post-op is very early in your recovery
I too got the most discomfort from my ribs and top of my stomach... lord only know what our surgeons do with our muscles! LOL but I wasn't expecting to be uncomfortable in that area either. It's fine though and it does settle. Be sure to take your painkillers still especially at night if you need them and don't forget that you don't have to sleep 'upright' as long as just your head and shoulders are raised that's all that's needed.
As for the heat from your boobs hun, Charlie is right to question that. If your boobs are actually hot to the touch and you're suffering a temperature at all sweetie, you should really call your clinic for advice. xxx

Re: STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
Well I am relieved to hear everything is fine. Great you've also got to see the surgeon so soon after the op. I am taking the dressings off tonight :pale: can you put some cotton wool padding where the scars are to relieve the rubbing??

Re: STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
If your incisions are scabbed, you might wanna try cushioning them with panty liners rather than cotton wool as the cotton wool tends to stick to the scabs... takes ages picking it out! LOL
Glad all went well today babe. xx

Re: STILL SO UNCOMFORTABLE?
Ow Hun its all normal & ifelt really bad for the 1st two weeks & then week 3 i slowly started feeling myself!
I Know what you mean about the heavy boobs & pain making you not be able to stand straight but trust me Hun it something you really need to do.....................I was in soooooo much pain & was in tears & my hubby in the end told me that ' what did i exspect if i keep walking bent over like a old granny & that he would be in agony if he was standing how i was let alone with having a op ontop of that!'
He told me to try & stretch myself back to my normal standing posistion which i got very upset about & cried saying he didnt understand how painfull it was to try & stand straight and that i its hurt so much & pulled my scars!
I did do what he said after my tantrum & over the day i gradually straightened up & and althou it was a bit owchey at times my god did i feel sooooooo much better at the end of the day when i was finally standing normally again!
I think bending over in the end was doing me in! lol But i still walked around craddleing my boobs for a few weeks as i was convinced they were going to 'fall off' as they felt soo heavy!

Yeah sorry I meant those wound dressing pads (from boots) which aren't made from cotton wool but for the life of me I couldn't recall what they were called. Panty liners on the other hand would be a much cheaper alternative and have the added bonus of being sticky on one side!! :good:
