Oiling my new boobs
Hey ladies
Just looking for some aftercare advice really. I've heard some people rub oil / cream into their new boobs but I wasn't advised to do anything.
Should I be doing something like rubbing bio-oil into them? Is this to help the skin stretch and reduce stretchmarks etc?
Help!
xx

Some ladies do, just keep away from your scars for a while. I haven't used anything on my chest at all and havent got streach marks. I think it is just to help the skin because it has been streached. My chest is oily since having implants, very odd ! xo

I haven't used anything on my boobs but my skin wasn't stretched that much and I haven't got stretch marks I started rubbing some Tamanu balm on my scars a couple of weeks ago though. Alot of girls on here use bio oil and say its really good. : )

Re: Oiling my new boobs
They feel ok at the mo but my boobs did stretch when I had my son so I've already got stretch marks from that. I think I'll ask my PS when I see him in 4 weeks. I was just worried that I should be doing it when actually I dont have to.
Jaybles that is weird!!! Maybe the skins natural oils are working overtime to compensate???

I don't know how likely stretch marks are but I am a daily bio oil user. I use it on my face as it really evens your skin tones and reduces any redness. I'd leave it till your healed a bit and then go for it. It's bloomin good stuff so it will make your skin tone appear even and reduce your healed scars :good:

Re: Oiling my new boobs
Hey hun, I used bio oil on mine from day one (none on my scars for 6 weeks though). It was very helpful when the skin on my boobs went a bit flaky. But if you dont feel you need to put anything on them and you dont usually moisturise them, then I wouldn't bother, just seem how you feel about it.
Re: Oiling my new boobs
I would check with your ps before you do anything but I was told light massaage with bio oil around the boobs to help with skin stretching and prevent stretch marks, and at 6 weeks I then will massage scars with the oil too.
I used the bio oil all over duing my pregnancy and I didnt get any stretch marks and I was HUGE with both babies I gained 30kg (4.7st)!!!!

I use palmers scar serum and I also use a body lotion every day and make sure the boobies are well covered with it. Gotta take care of those babies - they cost 4k!

Re: Oiling my new boobs
Hey hun! i was told to massage bio oil all over my boobs (including nipples) from week two, I had quite a lot of dry skin on my breasts and also where my bra sits on the sides (I am thinking that is because the skin has been stretched) so I have been massaging and applying oil to my boobs and scars for 6 days now :)
Hmm after reading your posts Sarah I am a bit worries, I am 99% sure Dr Tavakoli said I could start gently massaging my scars from week 2 (although I went under the breast crease) but I might just call up to make sure that is right tomorrow because you were told to massage ur scars from week 6????

I had a lollipop lift hun so my scars are bigger, more stitches ect I actually had different dressings put on at 3 different times for the first 3 weeks so thats probably the difference in our instructions. I actually still have steri strips over my insisions which I change each day but by wednesday (week 4) I wont need them anymore.

Oh thats ok then (I was a bit worried I was massaging them too early)
Yay only a few more days and you wont need to wear the steri strips anymore :) my scars are looking very neat so I can imagine yours are looking even better this week!

Re: Oiling my new boobs
I just lightly moisturised my boobs as I always do for my daily moisturising routine with Palmers cocoa butter lotion.
I did not go anywhere near my scars though... until you get the OK from your clinic/surgeon that your scars are fully healed you are at risk of infection if you put anything on them. xx

Re: Oiling my new boobs
I waited for my ps to tell me when to use creams and he said it was OK at my 1 month check up but I think it depends on where scars, implants and surgeons preferences, so check with them first.
PS I love you pic peachy
