Need some advice - the bra debacle
Ok so my OH has just let it slip that in a few weeks we are going to Sydney for a bodybuilding show and after we have to meet some of his work clients for a very posh dinner.
Now my problem is I have to dress up nice and I have no idea how I’m going to cover the compression bra.
The dinner is on the 23rd of Oct so ill be 23 days (3.5 weeks) post op. what are your thoughts on wearing a nice bra for a few hours? Am I going to cause damage? Or should I just stuck it up and wear the compression bra?
I just dont know what to do

Re: Need some advice - the bra debacle
I am sure everyone's opinion will be different but my ps said that he would let me "wear a sexy bra for a couple hours if I want to go out one night and show them off, but only once and only a few hours!"
If I were u and felt good, then I would wear the sports bra to the comp and change just for the dinner.
xx

Re: Need some advice - the bra debacle
Note what was actually said -
Sarah had sought the advice of her surgeon and his opinion based on her healing was that it was fine to wear a normal bra for a few hours.
You've paid a lot of money for your additions, it's just not worth risking a couple of hours for the sake of a night out IMO. Ask your surgeon if you can wear one, if they think you're healing well enough as Sarahs did, then you will be fine, if not, it's not too difficult to disguise a sportsbra with a little imagination - A gorgeous pashmina draped over a nice vest and jeans is always a safe and reliable one ensuring you're covered up and still look good. xx

Re: Need some advice - the bra debacle
I hate to say it but I think you should stick with the compression bra. I had a similar dilemma and posted on here hoping that someone would say it was fine. What I knew, and was pointed out, was that I had paid a lot of money for my boobs and it wasn't worth jeopardising them for the sake of a few hours out. I know it's a pain trying to cover up the bras but it is worth it in the end, and you'll have years of showing off your boobs.

Re: Need some advice - the bra debacle
I asked my PS the same question as I am god mother on Sunday he said he'd advise no more than an hour a day out of my sports bra but like I said that was my PS yours might think differently.
They are some really nice dresses out at the moment as winter is setting in that does cover the horredous bra chick xx

Personally I wouldn't risk it. A least phone your PS and ask his opinion on the matter. This is why I chose to have a BA during the winter but I understand it's summer over there right now, cross fingers you get the advice you want to hear. x x x

Re: Need some advice - the bra debacle
It is summer here and everything seems to be really strappy this season and the is no way could even think of squeezing into one of my old little dressing there would be boob hanging out everywhere
I just don’t know what to do. I wonder if there are non underwire bras that don’t sit up as high as the compression/sports bras?

Jene, if you are in Australian Bras n Things do a post op bra that is pretty with thinner straps and no underwire for th occasions when you can't wear the compression bra, not too expensive either.
