Scar question Empty Scar question

Post by kittie 15th September 2010, 6:37 pm

My scars seem very bumpy, I've had the all clear to massage my scars and it feels like 4 little peas under each scar, just wondering how long it took for others scars to go flat? I have been massaging for the last week, 2 or 3 times a day and scar on my rightie has gone a little red. Also, when did you start using something on your scar? I haven't had the all clear from surgeon yet and am seeing him on Monday so not too long and scars seems all closed up.

Damn scars freaking me out.

Just had a feel of my scars and they feel like they've got little peas underneath aswell hun. Just been for 2ndpost op check with nurse today and she said I can't use anything on them until they look like they've fully healed but when thats supposed to be I haven't got a clue and she didn't give me a timeframe. I'm just going to wait and see the surgeon. xx

I wouldn't worry hun, the scars have to heal internally as well as externally, so they do take a while, massage will help break up the scar tissue so they will heal flatter and bio oil or scar healing sheets etc will also help the apperance (make them fade quicker). When you get the all clear you can do what they suggest.
