A little advice needed please..
Hello girls,
Well, I'm just over four weeks post op now and things are going well....hardly any pain at all, boobs dropped and softening nicely, I understand the need to wear the sports/post op bras ect but I haven't got my 6 week appt with my surgeon until a whole 8 weeks post op. Does this mean that I have to keep wearing these horrid bras for an additional 2 weeks? Also, I'm still wearing (and obviously changing) the post op tape. I feel very unsexy.
I just want to get measured and start wearing normal bras (and clothes, these bras are a pain) and get rid of the tape, at the 6 week stage, like everyone else. Any suggestions girls? It seems like a life time ago since the op so an additional two weeks in these bras seems like a real chore. Thanks in advance. xx

Hi, i would ask your surgeon because we all get told different things.Think you should give them a call. I only have to wear mine for 6 weeks and had no tape from 2 weeks but some ladies get told longer. I bought a black sports bra which has helped with the clothing dilemas a bit. Im with you on not feeling sexy thing im 4 wks post op too.I never sleep in a bra and im finding that a real pain too! Just think it will be worth it in the long run xx

Hi hun you really should wear the sports support bra until you've been checked over as they may want you to carry on wearing it for longer. It may be worth phoneing to see if it's ok to stop wearing it at 6 weeks.
Re: A little advice needed please..
i emailed my surgeon for advice on this as i wanted to double check and he said even an underwired bra is fine at 4 weeks but think i'll stick to the unwired bras for a while and probably wear sports bra still most of the time, just that it's a pain with some clothes.

Thanks for the replies girls. Eight weeks just seems like an awfully long time wearing my post op bra.....especially as the only reason I can't see my surgeon sooner is due to him being fully booked up. You're right though misf1, I do need to be sure, think I will email them over the weekend. xx
