What to do
Hi ladies am in a real quandry .... you might remember I went for my appt with my surgeon but he was hours behind so I couldn't wait about for that long and re-booked for end of September to see him. I've now had a letter from HMG confirming appt on 29th but asking for full payment by 10th Sept. I did tell them at the time there was no way I would be prepared to pay out nearly £4000 without even seeing the surgeon first. I'm now beginning to wonder if I've done the right thing by going with HMG. I've already paid £500 deposit to secure op date (which is supposed to be 15th Oct). Hubby says not to worry about losing the £500 if I decide not to go with them. Almost feel like I'm being rushed into paying them when I've not even seen the guy who's going to be performing the surgery. I am going to call them today and see what they say but the other thing is I don't really want to see the surgeon and then pay all at the same time either as I'm sure my head will be spinning with everthing.

Re: What to do
Hi love
I agree with you, you don't want surgery by someone you have never met, he isn't going to know what size you want or anything.
Give them a call as you said and explain your issues.
It's not the end of the world as your husband said if you loose the £500 even though it is alot of money, (but your the one that's got to be happy) but they should reimburse you for that i would have thought.
I was told by my surgeon that even when i had paid the full amount, and if for any reason on the morning of surgery i pulled out then i would be refunded the full amount less any tests eg: blood tests.
Good luck with it all x

Re: What to do
I'd call and ask to speak with the clinic manager hun. Legally as your £500 is to secure your op date and that hasn't changed, if you cancel your op, they can keep the deposit babe sadly.
However, as the surgeon you scheduled to see did not turn up to his appointment through no fault of your own, they might see fair to allow you to pay off the remainder after seeing the surgeon if you are happy to press ahead after the consultation, you can but try hunni - if you're already thinking of forfieting your deposit to go elsewhere you've nothing to lose have you hun.
Good luck!

Thanks ladies. Just waiting for clinic to call back. If I lose the £500 then so be it. Better that than having to pay all the money then not be able to get all of it back. You wouldn't pay out £4000 for anything without trying it first would you !! xx

I should think so hun, you shouldn't have to pay before even seeing a surgeon.
Good luck with the consultation. xx

Hey Mindy -- Pleased you got that sorted. Totally agree that you shouldnt pay until you've seen the surgeon and you're happy with him!!
